Excellent day at BJJ, I'm definitely at the point now where I can beat pre-injury me. Gas is back on point which was huge.

Squats: 95, 115, 135, 185, 205, 225 x 5
-My warm up was the quickest it's ever been (still 15 minutes) but my depth was perfect. I've finally found my stance and don't need to video every set anymore. Moving up in weight next week should be fairly easy.

Then I decided to do some agility ladder drills which were fun. I want to incorporate some more stuff like this into my workouts to keep me on my toes and improve my general athleticism.
 
Really didn't want to work out today (spent all day at various doctors with a sick four year old) but dug deep and did it.

Deads: 135, 225, 315 x 5, 365 x 3, 410 x 5.
-Another PR here. Had to really concentrate to keep my back tight but made it just fine. Up another 5lbs next week.

Barbell Rows: 115, 135, 165, 185, 205 x 5
-This groove needs more greasing.

20 minutes on the elliptical.

-Gonna have to start working board presses here. I lose the lift about 1/3 of the way up on my fourth rep.

-Good stuff here.

20 minutes on the eliptical and then ran the biggest sand dune in my AOR. Such a ball buster.
 
Brutal session of BJJ today. Trying to shore up my weakness on bottom and I got paired up with the biggest guys at the gym trying to only work off my back. Had some success but ultimately it was frustrating. Good squat day though, my warm up is taking less time and I was able to really nail my form.

Forget to post on Saturday but I had a good squat day hitting 95, 115, 135, 185, 205, 225, and 245 x 5. Glad to be making good progress there.

Today I did a 20 minute run on the treadmill at 7mph in the morning then did my pull day.

Deads: 135, 225, 315 x 5, 365 x 3, 420 x 5
-Felt really good and my Grip didn't fail as bad as last week.

Barbell Rows: 95, 115, 135, 165, 185 x 5, 25 x 4

Underhand Cable Pull Downs: 135, 150, 165, 180 x 5
-A close friend of mine who knows his shit recommended these to me, can't hurt for some assistance.

Finished with 15 minutes on the elliptical.

Signed up to compete at a regional tournament in gi/no gi at 215. Really excited to compete again.
 
BJJ for lunch, feel excellent about today. After being stuck on 270 x 3 or 4 for the past five weeks I finally broke through.

Only had time to get my squats in today (after an hour of straight rolling at BJJ) but my depth was excellent and I progressed another 10lbs from last week.

Knees and hips were super tight and sore today. Still got the necessary depth after an extensive warm up.

Making lots of progress here. 275 should be very attainable next week.

100 sledge hammer slams on a tractor tire for some extra work afterward.
 
Haven't lifted in a few weeks wanted to focus more on my tournament prep, which ended up being a disaster. I finished 3/3 in gi and didn't medal in the purple/brown no gi. I came in too fat, too slow, and with shitty diet prep. Followed this up with a very disappointing lift today.

Decided I'm gonna start sprinting a mile for extra cardio as I believe that will mimic the energy needs for a match better than my typical 3-4 mile runs. But even that took 9:01 today. I'm in a funk and need to bust out.
 
So it turns out the reason I struggled so bad on my last entry was I came down with a really bad bug that had me on the toilet for a solid day within hours of the end of the workout. Good news is I'm down below 210 for the first time in awhile. Decided to redo that last workout and it went better.

Good baseline as I journey towards looking better for the summer and slimming down for future BJJ comps.

Switched to graveyard shift (10p-8a) for the next two weeks. Gonna make training a little difficult but I'm determined to still get my work in.
