EDDIE PROVES UFC NOT FIGHTER FIRST?

Welcome to fighting. Where everyone will use you until your at the end of your career. I hope he has something to show for it.

Lost to Dustin twice? He beat the breaks off him the first fight, and got cheated the second fight.

Either way, he's one of the top guys in the best division in MMA and a legend of the sport. He deserves more respect.
ha, trolling at its finest

"UFC is dying"
"Pride will reign Supreme"
"EliteXC is the future"
"Dana's ego will be the death of UFC, Scott Coker and Strikeforce will take over!"

I've heard the exact same song and dance in the Contender forum for well over a decade, yet the UFC has kept on growing, despite all the boom and bust cycles which are part and parcel of combat sports. Still, Sherdog financial analysts gonna analyze.
so you need to read your own text. pride was the top organization, and everyone was thinking it would be the top for a long time...... until one day it wasn't anymore. the same could happen to the ufc. especially with the retarded moves they're pulling. and people may not like it but bellator is making good moves. the dazn deal is great for them and they're starting to get some nice fighters, solid divisions. if coker doesn't fuck up with some fedor esque contract, they could definitely make the ufc worry about them

Probably a guy like Dez Bryant. He’s been a pro bowler for years and always been a top wide receiver. His numbers have declined lately due to injuries and then his team just cut him. AFAIK, no one has even picked him up yet which is crazy to think about but that’s what happens when you hit your 30’s and there’s young new talent coming in every year.

His numbers dropped because his QB was trash.

The ufc hasn’t fully jumped the shark yet but they are on their way I think with these dubious decisions they’ve been making lately.
I don’t think it's a dubious decision, eddie is 34 , which at the lighter weight classes is almost retired, he's only going down athletically and probably won't win the belt again. So why would they pay him so much if he only going down hill?

Massively disagree. Despite the hate he gets for his showing against Conor and claims of being dirty against Poirier the guy comes to fight and has made me a fan despite the snoozefest against Pettis. Pay this guy what he's asking and fold the women's flyweight division.
why not fold WMMA while we're at it?

I wouldnt throw millions at Eddie at this point. He is 34 but 70 in mma years after all those years of war with that bar brawl style of his. The best for him right now is bellator, one fc or wsof and hopefuly retire in a couple years.
True he shouldnt have bet on himself , they probably lowered they're offer after he lost.

He's entering Ben Askren territory. UFC HAS let huge talents like Rory and Mousasi walk. Or simply haven't signed big prospects like Ben. Ben helped bring a lot of eyes to One FC.

why not fold WMMA while we're at it?
We can only dream mate. There is an argument to kill off flyweight if Shevchenko wins as she was competitive at a higher weight. Maybe leave a hot women's weight class.

WME's modus operandi is to put one or two name fighters on a card and then have gobshite Dana White Contender series cans and wmma fighters on 95% of the other card. I see cards now and I have no idea who 90% of the fighters are, and most make their debut a few days before on his interweb series that 10 people watch. Bellator is going to over take UFC in the next five years, as all the top and name fighters are goin there, not to mention they gobbled up all the young talent like Pico, Ed Ruth, Swagger and Conor lite.

Coker just understands the DNA of the fight fan and industry better, was a real fighter and was doing fight promo while Dana was a bell hop in Boston. On the other hand, the Fertittas just had deep wallets and bought org's that already existed and were successful, from UFC to Pride to Strikeforce. Dana's greatest contribution was thinking up the brilliant idea of a reality TV show, at a time when everyone and their Mom was doing a reality TV show. Boggles my mind how people think Dana is some kind of promo genius, and now on his own, we see the results: all loyal employees fired, all stars gone or unhappy with the UFC, cross promo (something they never allowed), terrible rating and PPV #'s and elite talent going to other organizations.

Eddie had a great career but now he’s slipping.
A year or two from now, he’ll be losing to guys that you’ve never heard of.

He’s in a similar place to where Gilbert was a few years back.
The UFC messed up by giving Gilbert a fat contract with a gig coaching TUF, and another title shot. Gilbert proceeded to lose his next 4 fights, test positive, and made great money doing all that.

That's sad that Dana would act like this. Eddie is a guy who always brings it. He deserves better.

They don't even have enough stars on their roster for more than 2 packed cards a year.

But its nice that they can put young guys like Ford Escort in the main-event of a ppv... before throwing the Ford under a bus 1 ppv later

What are you basing that on though? Not his last 5 fights. Hes only lost to top 5 guys
usually 34 years old for a lightweight with a 15 year mileage is a stage of crossroads. I dont see him becoming champ again in the ufc and moving down to fw will be a tough cut at this point. Not to mention that he wont get a good deal from uncle Dana.

"Pride was on top then it fell, therefore the UFC could too" - well by the same logic ANYTHING on top can fall, what a completely moot point. You're missing my point completely, which is Sherdog analysts can't predict for shit. Whatever is going to happen to the UFC, Sherdog won't have a fucking clue.

"What the UFC is doing is really [insert negative adjective]!"
"[insert name of second tier org] is doing great, will take over!"

Pride was the only top org that failed. Do you know how many no.2 and no.3 orgs like Bellator have folded? Coker's track record is dog shit, he already ran his last org into the ground the minute he tried to compete with the UFC.

Go fight for One FC if you wanna get paid

“The current structure is terrible,” De La Hoya said. “I’ve been talking to many, many fighters in the MMA, and it’s ridiculous on what they get paid. It’s crazy. It gets me sick to my stomach.”

The loan was only for 1.8 billion. And they do not have tens of thousands of investors to answer to, they recently got 1.1 billion cash infusion and are buying out a lot of the smaller shareholders.

This is what I'm talking about with Sherdog analysts. You guy make these claims without even getting the basic facts straight.
So bro, this was the post that broke my heart. I thought you were my shotgun seat sher-homie, then you amputate my cock and balls worse than my ex did in court when she took my son and made me forfeit 75% of my pay check to her - never said there were 10's of thousands of investors but said there were tens of thousands of shareholders in the buyout companies. Tom Brady, Jizz-El and Conan fucking Obrien have stakes in the company.

Did they produce 2.4 Billy in cash?

Damn, homie!

I had a bunch of my posts deleted for shitting too hard on my dead mom. It's nothing personal, I'm an equal opportunity popcorn eater.
