In person he was extremely arrogant when I met him.He compared himself to the best in the world and repeatedly derided BJJ.When I asked him why he doesn't compete in ADCC he said "Because I don't respect a competition that doesn't reward throws."
I don't typically comment on stuff like this, but this is just false. I attempted the ADCC trials at 170lbs in 2009 and lost. I didnt do ADCC because I was not good enough. I then did the ADCC american event in 2014 at 155lbs that had the same rules because I liked them.
As far as arrogant is concerned, I am truly sorry you had a bad experience at my seminar. I don't know witch one it was, but I am sorry. I for sure feel you misinterpreted my feelings on BJJ or ADCC. I may have stated issues with the rules that force the BJJ players to behave a certain way, and how that can be detrimental to their overall martial arts progress. That is of course true with Judo, SAMBO, BJJ and any other combat sport. Each of the sports lends it self to certain skill sets, and ignores others. That's ok of course. I just prefer to use the different rule sets as training tools for myself and my students so they can develop a broad set of skills.
As far as accomplishments go, I am proud of what I have done, even if its not world level. I worked hard, and I did my best in the tournaments I won. Could some Russian do it better?... probably. But I am still proud of winning the Sambo Pan-Ams. And, yes, I had 3 matches... they are on youtube if you want to watch. I got Bronze in the 2010 USA sambo championships, with 3 matches, Silver in the 2013 championships is 4 matches, and then gold in the 2016 with only 2 matches. Yeah I had less matches in 2016, but I am still proud because I had been trying to win since 2010, and it let me get to the Pans. I did worlds at 2016 and got smoked by a guy from Armenia.
I did earn my black belt in BJJ. I competed two brown belt gi tournaments in 2017. I got silver in one and gold in the other before I was promoted. It was a challenge for me because it was a different rule set then I was used to, so I am proud of doing it. It was not elite by any means, but It was tough for me, so I am proud of it. (Edit: I started bjj back in 2011, but had not competed in the rule set until 2017)
As far as my instructional material goes, several people seem to feel it has helped their game, so I keep teaching. Teaching martial arts is my job. I enjoy it, and some people enjoy learning the material from me, so I think I will keep doing it.
And I never wanted to be misleading about my competitive abilities. The last time I think I responded to a thread on here was when someone tried to compare me to Rafael Mendes back in 2012. I logged in to say how silly that was because of how high level he is. here is a link to that:

As far as whatever I did to give you a bad impression of me, or to make my seminar unenjoyable for you, I am really sorry.
EDIT:
I am now remembering this is the SECOND time I have apologized to you about this time you felt I was rude, and you are STILL saying these things on here. I really don't get it man.
