    Meltzer Newsletter:

Very early PPV estimates are in the 230,000 range, or pretty much what was expected going in. Given that the undercard looked to be one of the best with everyone ranked, and the action on paper looked great going in, the show doing numbers at that level tells you that you can talk about what on paper are great fights, or fights with ranked fighters up and down the show, or fights that could lead directly to title fights, and none of that moves the numbers appreciably. It’s a star power game, which is why stars have so much leverage and value.

So they literally need McG or GSP to break past 500k now.

    Sadly :(
    I think the O/U was about 250-275k
Hopefully it goes up a bit when more companies release their numbers

just another proof that a card having good fights or not doesn't mean much PPV wise, it needs stars :/
shame, i wanna believe that the UFC 217 and 218 being back to back prejudiced it but it should have made more anyway, at least 300k

WOW thats horrible!!!! I really enjoyed ufc 218. im very interested in seeing the ppv buys for ufc 220. I would say its the most highly anticipated hw fight in a very long time so if the numbers suck, thats very bad for us fans.

    That's just sad for MMA.

With that said, there wasn't much promotion for the event either.

Maybe after the Francis KO he will start selling. They have a lot of stuff to promote him with.

they really need less PPV events and better FOX cards at least

WME will probably start doing some propaganda with only 20~ days left, i doubt it make really good numbers, 40 left and 0 promotion and they still have 219 ahead

Reminds me of 206 last year. Great card but no star power.

I think if they got 350+ from anyone not named mcgregor or st Pierre they would be happy with that. If a great card like 218 is only doing around 250k, I won't be expecting much more from a 2x title card like 220

I'm thinking that 350-500k is a realistic range
They can do over 350k if they really get behind what an amazing fight that can be
I think UFC can do a lot with that main
    Lets see if they do
