Dolce's take on missed weight

Weigh ins in the fight day before someone dies.

Meanwhile. while Conor is inches from death, Khabib can't even say no to Tiramisu on weight cut week. If Khabib had 1/1000th of Conor's determination, with still his talent and skillset, he would be a three weight champ by now and a multi billionaire.

Agree 100%

Fight at your real Weight class
I would have liked this comment, but the Beta moderators took away my privileges. LOL

Since some fighters can't be professionals on their own, then it is up to the UFC and the commission to force them to be professional.

right off the bat you shouldn’t be allowed to fight in a weight class when your walking around weight is more than the weight class above you

1) Weigh-ins the day of the fight. So we stop this bullshit of people getting in the cage being two divisions over the one they're fighting in.

2) Fuck no. People often miss weight for medical reasons. So no suspensions.

1/10 of a pound over = 50% of fight purse taken?

I agree in principle because I hate when guys miss weight by a lot, but in practice this seems way too harsh. Lose half your money for the weight of your underwear lol.

I kinda wish more fighter stopped tryiing to game the system.

Do like Sakuraba, Chael, BJ, Moose, etc... and fight at a more natural weight (and higher weights).

I am confident DC could take the HW belt if he tried, for example.

Honest question, tell me how you don´t cut weight but still die?
Guys we're still cutting weight but with less time to rehydrate = less fluid in the sack that surrounds the brain = more guys dying

Id take this more seriously if cutting weight wasnt literally Dolce's day job

thrread title should be dolce's new commercial

Because fighters would pull off before the weigh in citing sickness when they are not making weight.

You have less fights that way.
for the fighters that pull out.....then all main cards should have a "2nd string-pre-approved alternate". Might cost more to pay fighters to be a backup plan (maybe like 10k or something just to train) but the cost-offset would make up for fights never falling thru.

boom. solved. would help with fighter pay too.

backup fighters are such an easy concept that my 10yr old could implement.

Dolce sure sounds like a guy who wants to help fighters out.

For a hefty fee, I mean.

Weight cutting is awful, and needs to go away. However, punishing people is not the answer. Lastly, Dolce is a part of the problem, making money off dehydrating people. His way may be “safer” (according to him), but his concern is money, not fighter safety or the integrity of the sport.

But the fucker made weight didn’t he? Then he moved up appropriately. Was he handed an immediate title shot that most arm chair 350 fatsos on here hated? Yes. Did he crush that man? He sure did.

What’s my point? I’m not sure.

If you get the flu or some other shit when you're cutting weight it can really make it hard. Imagine getting gastro when you have to cut 5kg in a day... that would be so bad. Cutting weight is the pits

Lol, I remember BJ said he was paying Dolce $1000 a day. (to look god awful)

Gastaleum missed weight on Dolce. Um. Hendricks. I'm sure there have been more.

He's like the Edmund of diets and cutting.

Ppl would still cut weight just have less time to rehydrate
Make it as close to the fight as possible, 1 hour, maybe 30 minutes before the fight, whatever. I think it wouldn´t be so hard to control it, if they really wanted to. But let´s leave that for the specialists.

Doesn't matter if the scale is right outside the cage. Ppl will cut no matter how long they have to rehydrate. That's why they give them 24 hrs
