A) Are you interested to see the rematch?
B) Who wins?
Are you kidding me? Up until the headkick from that roided out cheater, the fight was pretty much even. Does he have enough left? The question is more aptly: Has Gus improved enough to take DC?
And, though I love DC, I want Gus as champ more than just about anything, so I hope the answer is yes.
Also, IB4 Gus once beat up people when he was a teenager and shouldn't be champ, but Jones is okay in my book posts.
i think so. with dc no longer in jones' shadow, he could cement his legacy with a few more wins. i could also see a trip up to hw to try and nab a second belt before he retires.
DC vs Shogun for the semi-vacant title !!!!!
WAR SHOGUN !!!!!
Gus keep getting better while dc is not.
Gus look better now then he is when they first fought. And the first fight was very close.
So no.gus would win in a rematch
DC is getting older and is at that age where he can literally fall off a cliff overnight. He also took a life/chin changing beating against Jon. Could very well be chinny now.
Gus has never beaten a top fighter.
So of course DC beats him, again.
I absolutely want to see it and it's the obvious fight to make right now. I think Gus could beat DC after his awesome performance against Glover but he HAS to have the cardio to go 5 HARD rounds. I can see 3 potential outcomes:
- DC by decision in a fight very similar to their first
- Gus by decision if his cardio is on point and he performs like he did against Glover
- Gus by TKO because DC's chin might be sliding (though less likely)
Make it happen UFC! Winner defends against Volkan!
The damage Jones put on his chin with that kick and the beating the ensued afterward may have changed his formerly steel titanium chin.
dont want to hear the name DC ever again
but i think hed probably win, but the ko and father time could mean hes done
Yeah,he looked AWESOME vs Jan Blachowicz!
Seriously though,I think the last few fights DC had he was as good or better than he ever was so another tough.I'd go with DC again but kinda root for Gus to have an amazing performance since it would simply be better for the division to have a young'ish champion.
I love how idiots think getting TKO'd once ruins your chin hahaa (not at you 3sum)
How much Gus needs to improve when he lost only a split decision first time and was coming off a KO loss? Now the tables are turned and DC has been KOd in his last fight, he would be over 2 years older, and you still think Gus needs to improve?
I thought Gus already beat him last time (2,3 and 4), and I also thought he looked like shit the majority of the fight. He should beat DC relatively easy when he is at his best, imo. Especially now after seeing how great he looked in his last fight.
He looked fine against glover. And won the fight going away, yes. But something still seems off to me about Gus since his DC loss. I dunno. I hope you're right.
Was a great fight. I like to see rematches of top class fights, they're often better than new match-ups.
DC's pressure boxing was a big problem for Gus, couldn't find space to use his reach to get strikes off. IMO, DC's a tougher match-up for Gus than Jones is, since he can't keep him off of him and can't keep him on the mat.
I'd expect a whole bunch of running, more than vs Tex. If Gus can create separation with it though DC will take a ton of punches.
Favoring DC, even though it's true he could fall off at any time given his age and time in both wrestling & fighting.
True, he did not look great at all against DC and Jan B, still almost beat prime DC which tells something about his potential. But against Glover he arguably had the best performance of his career, despite of the running many fans like to critize. That was just his game plan, not lack of confidence in his skills. He put a very dominant beating on Glover for 5 rounds.
