Does anyone have any experience with the gym? It seem like a low key place. Haven't heard much about what its like there.

    I understand its $200/month

Sorry if this is the wrong section to post this in. I wasn't sure where to place it.

    Don't go there bro,

A sherbro with at least one month of training could smash any UFC fighter, given our immense physical attributes and encyclopedic knowledge of all martial arts.

Someone I trained with at my first MT gym ended up training there.

    That's all I got.

Lol...pretty sure he was asking for some personal experiences about training there.

Not that my anecdote was any better...

I've trained there. It is indeed pretty low key (too low key imo). I got the impression they weren't really trying to seriously build anyone new after MM and I moved gyms after a couple months. This was approx 2 years ago? Some good training partners there though which seems to be the most difficult thing to find in gyms around here.

Bibiano is pretty much the reason why DJ is so good against grapplers, Borg, Elliot and Reis never had a chance since DJ was ready for anything they could do. Bibiano BJJ is levels ahead of these guys.

I train up in Snohomish now. It's a small newer gym called Team Mean MMA. I really like the coach and he used to train at Roufusport.

$200 a month isn’t bad. Last time I checked, it’s like 200 for a 1 hour session with Greg Jackson. Training at a gym and having a 1 on 1 session are two totally different things but still. Jackson/Wink is crazy expensive. Matt Hume is one of the best coaches out there and just 200 a month is a pretty good deal IMO.

if you're in Seattle, a shameless plug for Salaverry's gym. especially if you're young. it's hard core and fun, and the fun keeps you from burning out. there is a core group of teens that work hard together.

i've heard good things about RSU in Bellevue, but i went for 3 weeks once and it felt like it was nothing but Microsofties taking boxing 101. i admittedly didn't give it enough time.

While I haven't personally, I do know Matt is one of the very best around. Many other pros have gone to him for guidance. With that being said, $200 is a lot, so that mother fucker better actually be there sometimes.

I've heard good things about Salaverry's gym as well, but haven't been there.

Also I forgot to mention that I pay $120 at my gym (it varies on how long you sign up for I think), and that is unlimited classes and open gym Sunday mornings which people usually just roll or spar during.

To learn from Hume cant get much better. Id go just for the catch-wrestling knowledge he posseses. Its like learning from Erik Paulson, theyve literally "hacked" jiu-jitsu and can shortcut you to success rather quickly
