Do you think you're goodlooking?

I know I'm good looking.

This is true. I'm built like Daniel Cormier. It never stopped me.

Back when I was still dating (I'm engaged now) I used to make jokes in my dating profiles saying that "I try to keep in decent shape, but I like food too much to ever have a six pack" and I didn't have a shirtless bathroom selfie. I had three pictures: one of me cheesing, one of me out with friends, and one of me in scrubs with a bunch of coworkers. My profile was inundated with messages daily. I still dated a bunch of women. They all knew I was soft around the middle. None of them cared.

I have a lot of female friends, too, and they basically all say that the attraction to washboard abs goes away after some time. Financial stability, parenting skills, etc. play a bigger role in attraction.

That an teh 12 incher

I do, I don't think anyone else does though.
Weirdly, I'm just the opposite. I never thought of myself as attractive until people who have no reason to lie started to tell me so. See the "Who has the guts to post their pic" thread. Some randoms on Sherdog have no need to inflate my ego unnecessarily, for example.

Now I notice, where I never did before, that people (mostly women lol) check me out. The other day, I was bent over tieing my shoe or something, and when I stood up I realized a woman behind me had been staring the whole time lol.

I'm taking "Ryan Goslings Creepy Cousin" from that thread as a compliment. <45>

Women predate men when it comes to sneaky checkouts, they realised before us that looking at butts is much easier to get away with undetected than anything on the front of someone's body.

I think women catch men more easily and get away with checking out men more readily because they have generally better peripheral vision than men and they're better at discriminating colours. Men are compensated with better distance vision and greater sensitivity to fine detail and rapidly moving stimuli. I believe the reasoning is that it makes men better hunters and women better threat detectors.

hard to tell if you're good-looking, unless you receive attention from the opposite-sex, or people tell you.

As I’ve gotten older I’ve become more ripped and usually go with the stubbly face look. At the same time, more women have wanted casual relationships with me. I’m finally accepting this new “casual” life. I always thought I would get remarried after my divorce.
I’ve shown pictures of me at 30 and 50 and some people can’t believe it’s the same person.
I have stable long term potential. One day I might settle down. I just don’t want to go back to the dad bod.
Do you still lift? Or do you get most of your "workout" from sparring?

I saw a survey on this, when rated by other people 90% of men thought they were better looking than they really were.

I’ll lift maybe 4 months a year. I haven’t lifted in the last 4-5 months. I’m getting ready to start again. I’m weighing in tonight for my fight to win match tomorrow. I’m ten pounds lighter than I was in high school.
This camp was almost all jiu Jitsu training. A little hill sprinting and swimming was my only cross training.

I've wasted a good 3 years due to inactivity and will start again next week. Just like you, most of my non-grappling related activities consists of hill sprints and swimming. Although I do add burpees and shadow boxing to keep me loose. I find BJJ is making me tight with all that emphasis on isometric strength/squeeze. Maybe I could visit the grappling subforum again. Good luck on your matches tomorrow.

No I look like I haven't slept in days. I smoke so that doesn't help and all the partying/drugs that I did growing up left a permanent impression. Also working early, late and nightshifts since I was 17 gives me a fatigued look.

Luckily I have an athletic physique and I'm a witty guy. I usually pull the girls I want but it takes time. Once they get to know me I'm good but picking up strangers is damn near impossible.

i look kinda like James Van Der Beek w/ Jason Statham's hairline

No but I’m not that ugly, I’m 6 foot 2, could stand to lose a few more kilos but height is better for a guy anyway.
