Do you consider Central/South America part of the west? If not, you might be a racist

remember back in the day when West/East was based on political alignment and not stupid shit like what hemisphere you were at or if some edgy millennial thought it was a race thing?

It has always been based on political alignment, at least since the rise of Islam and the Schism of 1054, well, actually since the split of the Roman Empire into Western and Eastern.
 
They are a part of the South. And they shall rise again!

Good question, I don't have a definite line where the West starts and ends, or on what time ranges "Western culture" spans.

I gave my anecdotal experience in the vast difference when you live in the "2nd world" post Soviet state, then in South America, and then in what people conventionally call "the West".
