Do you all agree McGregor has been the most influential fighter in MMA history ??

I don't disagree completely, because he can't control who copies him. Fighters picking their fights, champs looking up and down weight classes, money fights...it all became bigger than the sport because it worked for him. And now everybody is a trash talker, not just a handful of fighters.
Everybody isn't now a trash talker. And Conor didn't invent trash talking. Holy fuck, man.

In terms of making the UFC to become a household name through entertainment/promotion, he is the most prolific influencer of that.

In terms of influencing fighters and fighting styles (including Conor's) you do realize Mixed Martial Arts combines wrestling, boxing, kickboxing, karate, ju-jitsu, judo, etc, right?...
Gracies, Bruce Lee, a lot of others....even GSP are greater influencers to fighters and fighting styles.

the fact less than a 1/100 of people know them compared to Conor makes me disagree with you

of course Bruce Lee is influential, but never competed. Of course Gracie was the first fighter to know Jiu Jitsu in UFC so everyone had to learn it. But no one compares to Conor fight style/Big wins/PPVs/mainstream effect

you are wrong

now even boxers are trash talking much more after Mayweather vs McGregor

Conor has completely changed the landscape of MMA/UFC/combat sports, you like it or not is very different right now and just because of him

Sure, Conor.

It's like saying Giussepe Meazza is more influential than Cristiano Ronaldo, total nonsense
Guy that saved a sport > guy that had a few million dollar ppv sales and now the sport is worse than ever.

Brock, Ronda, Conor and gsp are really all the same, Tito saved it through the dark times..
Royce put it on the map.

People can argue and have a good point that Conor has hurt mma more than helped.

Lol you are fucking retarded if you think this.

He's probably the biggest star the sport has ever had, but I'm not sure how influential he's been.

Tito is a really good call.

I had pretty much given up on MMA and he made it exciting again.

+1. Conor popularized the diva model in part by fucking over contenders in two divisions. That's what his career stands for at this point.

Tito, like, never even talks about his historic role, either. <Lmaoo>

He has:
- Entertaining fight style
- Big wins
- 2 title holder
- Biggest PPV events
- Biggest mainstream impact
- 1/2 of sherdog threads being about him

He has not:
- The biggest win streaks
- Title defenses
- The most well rounded style
- Unbeaten record
- Fights right now, very unactive

but thats not what this thread is about (because I know every Conor hater gonna say that)

The thread is about the most influential fighter in MMA history. It is Conor?

the only person he has influenced is artem. ive never heard anyone say conor is their hero, except artem. ive heard plenty of fighters rep GSP, fedor, some rep anderson silva. khabib looks up to cain.

nobody is going to look up to a guy who has just his left hand, shit cardio, shit ground game. except battyboy artem riding his dick

jeuss, mcgregor fans are completely.....

FEDOR, ANDERSON, JONES, GSP. you know, the actual fucking GOATs that also DEFENDED the belt not once but MULTIPLE times

when you say this kind of shit you're spitting on these fighters' legacies
There is probably under 100,000 people in the world that know who Fedor is.

Gracie fam had something to do with all those jitz schools

I don't think you know what "influential" means.

so Tito is the most influential because sell PPVs back then for UFC ok

nobody is going to look up to a guy who has just his left hand, shit cardio, shit ground game. except battyboy artem riding his rick

probably you live in the USA

I can asure you, there are most people in the world that consider Conor a "hero" than the total amount of people than just have heard of: GSP, Fedor, Silva and Khabib COMBINED.

Thats as close as a FACT that can ever be, numbers dont lie

They defended and were great champions, love them all. But they are very far to be most inlfuential than Conor.
they're definitely more influential than him. ask the fighters, why they started MMA, who inspires them. you would be lucky to have a single guy saying mcgregor

There is probably under 100,000 people in the world that know who Fedor is.
casuals know mcgregor, it doesn't mean that he's being influential to the sport in a good way

Guy that saved a sport > guy that had a few million dollar ppv sales and now the sport is worse than ever.

Even if it is negative, thats influence
