It'll be a tough fight but I favor Wideman over Gayguard.
The Chris via wrestling and TKO
Go rewatch that
hell yes, violently stopped in his last 2 vs 3 wins by stoppage. don't look good for the chris.
Winning until he got beat.. Nice..
I like Mousasi(followed him since DREAM), but he has no urgency at all. If he fights a competent fighter like Weidman, who is gonna be cautious. Mousasi, does not strike as he should.
Not to mention that Weidman is a wrestler, which gives Mousasi huge problems and makes him even more hesitant.
I feel Weidman is gonna be cautious and just push mousasi against the cage.
It's gonna be wall n stall for 3 rounds...a close decision. I hope Mousasi wins and edges out the decision, specially if it's under the new rules.
Tell me, where does Weidman WIN this fight? Not standing up, and not on the ground. Mousasi has incredible skill off his back and has finally been training TDD extensively.
If Mousasi comes in flat and barely throws, maybe Chris wins a decision. But 8/10 fights Mousasi wins this, submission or TKO.
Easy to look good against shittier competition.
I'd be surprised if Moose beat Rockhold or Romero.
He looks the exact same. Source he lost 20 lbs because I am gonna call BS on that one?
He fights the exact same. Show me some video evidence of him fighting differently.
Pre USADA Weidman was slow and had questionable cardio.
Romero and Rockhold present day are better than Silva and Machida.
Pretty simple. Prime Silva would have a more difficult time than when he had his reign. I bet Luke, Weidman and Romero beat everyone Silva beat during his reign. The Vitor that fought Silva isn't the same one that fought Luke either. His body transformed dramatically by the time he fought Luke.
Weidman's greatest advantage in this fight is his grappling and he knows it. Expect TDs and strong top game from Chris
Gegard gasses when forced to wrestle, look at Jacare rematch
Tough to call. If you compare how they've been doing recently then you'd think that Weidman is on the decline and Mousasi is on a roll, but even if this is the case Weidman's strength is still Mousasi's weakness and that's wrestling vs wrestling defense.
A shitty Weidman can still smother and stall Mousasi to a decision.
Weidman UDs Moose. You heard it here second.
That's absolutely false
The Romero fight was 1 round each going into the third
There wasn't even an argument for the fight to being scored for either guy
On paper Weidman could give Mousasi trouble with his takedowns & wrestling but he just suffered 2 brutal knockouts. I'm leaning towards Mousasi to win just cause I like him better. I'm not really sure who to pick in this 1.
Weidman KO'd round 1
He is no longer my boy.
Is that a sig bet we have going on here, sir?
I've got Moose, you've got Wide man?
Nah, my sig has to stay intact to shamelessly plug my own thread. (check it out!)
Not a fan of Weedman anyway, so not rooting for him, just thinking he has a good chance of winning a decision. Would be fine with Moose winning tho.
LOL, you gonna lose that money
I would pick Mousasi vs both Luke And Romero, but it would not be a safe bet at all. They Are good fighters.
About Weidman, do you question his transformation after USADA? It is probably one of the more visible changes we have seen in the UFC. Hard to argue against that.
Source about weight.. You can Google interviews with him And Llongo before the fights.
He said himself that he was 18-20 lbs lighter than normal for the Rockhold fight, And was more like a welterweight now, walking around at about 190.
I don't need to, the first was a close round, but Rockhold edged it. 2 of 3 judges had the first for Rockhold also. Also keep in mind that Rockhold was dealing with a bad infection and was on antibiotics.
