I'm going to visit a bunch of old friends in my hometown in a couple months, and I'm thinking of ideas that could house a lot of people without needing to reserve a private room or area.

One such idea is a junky bowling alley that somehow stayed in business all the years I lived up there, and I think it's still around today surprisingly.

If you were invited to go bowling with some friends, would you go? Do people still go bowling for fun anymore?

Yea, bowling is fun once in awhile. I have a couple friends that bowl in leagues. Good excuse to get away from the wife and have a few beers.

I was at the bar a few weeks back and it was completely dead besides me, a buddy and about 5 others who were hammered and going on and on about bowling.

They eventually turned to us and asked our opinion on how many steps should be taken before rolling. I told them I took 13 small baby steps. The guy was legitimately offended that I didn't answer his question seriously.

I'd go bowling with friends. Beer and nachos.<Fedor23>

Bowling is still fun. It's an actual activity instead of just sitting around. They have cheap beer. What's not to like?

Its fun. I see a lot of people under 25 bowling. Good idea to call the alley beforehand to make sure there isn't an event taking place. Sometimes lanes aren't always available.

Sure its like going to the pub/ to a cheap restaurant who doesn't like beer and junk food? If I go bowling I like to just go to the bar

I would bowl more, but my Wii controller doesnt work.

Thing you gotta realize is most bowling alleys sell beer.....which means Bowling stays in business.

Funny you make this thread right now.

I have a friend who just came in town yesterday. I've known the guy for years and one of our long-time traditions is going bowling.

We'll be going this afternoon.

I'm glad you and everyone agrees, I had worried that bowling had fallen out of fashion because of the Wii and because people don't seem to like to go and do things anymore. I haven't been bowling in a few years because no one ever felt like going, and I lived a few blocks down from an alley for a while too. I enjoy bowling, it's a good time even though I can only hit between 80 and 100 every time and usually there's someone you bring that breaks 150 easily and you go "oh, you bowl".

yeah, i havent bowled in years but its awesome

Yeah man I agree with you. I'm at the age where most of my friends would rather sit around and drink but it's like, why not drink AND have an activity instead of just sitting around? Bowling is fun. I get my fill in about 2 games but that'll easily eat up a couple hours if you're eating/drinking and talking with friends etc and it's real cheap. Good option imo.

Gf and i go bowling about once a month. Like people havesaid tbwy sell pitchers of beer for pretty cheap. Alley is usually busy. Bunch of my friends are in a bowling league that has like 50 teams. Id join but i work that night

Yea bowling can get busy. I remember being surprised how expensive it is too.

Pretty much every Station casino has bowling alleys here in Vegas. They always seemed to be packed on the weekends.

Few simple fundamentals will go a long way to increasing your score dramatically. Lining up the arrows, watching your hand all the way through your release etc etc.. Hard to explain online, easy to show you though. YouTube might be of help
