What's the real difference, and would anyone really recommend going with the TKD shoes over a pair of boxing or wrestling shoes?

im just using em for mittwork and bag work in my garage.

    Thanks

Better ankle support. Wrestling/boxing shoes are basically the same.

Boxing/wrestling shoes will be above the ankle whereas TKD shoes won't. TKD shoes are also typically lighter. If you want to kick a lot TKD shoes would probably be a bit better (more flexible) whereas footwork and boxing training, better suited for boxing/wrestling shoes. Not an absolute but in general. My hunch is the boxing/wrestling shoes would hold up better on your garage floor than TKD shoes as well.

Weight lifting shoes are also similar, either way. Choose what's best depending on the type of work you want to put in.
