Did DC take it easy on Anderson at 200 or just play it safe?

Andy was just too tough to finish with gnp

Lol @ people thinking that a fighter goes easy on another fighter in a pro mma fight
For sure. We would never see a guy like Pat Barry not going for a finish when his opponent is dazed. The Fulton fight also never happened (2 weeks ago?).

It was a short notice fight and Anderson is a crafty, dangerous striker. Cormier took the safest, most intelligent path to victory.

He played it safe.

DC flat out said when he took the Anderson fight on 2 days notice, he wasn't going to mess around. He was going to wrestle him and win a decision. No messing around trying to KO him or play his game.

He said as the LHW champ, he had nothing to gain from beating a 2 day notice Anderson who was moving up in weight other than getting to compete with him and a paycheck. He wasn't going to take chances.

He was right ultimately because a lot of people don't seem to put much weight behind having one of the GOATs on his resume.

Was actually a missed opportunity for him @ UFC 200 . He lost it big time.
