Ferguson could potentially become champion beating the LW goat, but he tripped over a cable.

5 years later, he's taken 6 beatings in a row and doesn't even realize his high-level fighting days are over.

His pride is bliding him. It's not about the money, I believe he made enough to not worry about it.

He needs the humility to at least give his career a rest and accept the fact that even if he wins one or two fights, it won't do anything more for his legacy, but continuing to fight can do a lot of damage to his health.

Ferguson was never that good.
(I know that's a trite saying around here, but he really wasn't.)

His best victory was RDA (a workmanlike NON-Chamion);
The rest of Tony's victories were life and death struggles with front-runners and fringe contenders (Cerrone, Pettis, etc.).

After life and death struggle with aging Cerrone, Tony then got beat by Gaethje, Charles, Dariush, Chandler, Diaz, and now Bobby Green.

After that, then Chandler, Dariush, and Gaethje got beaten by Charles. One round each.
(Chandler made it to the first few seconds of the second.)

Diaz and Bobby Green are even Top 10 ...

Charles then got beaten by Islam ... also in the first few seconds of the second round.

Islam is not even in the league of Khabib.

Any discussion about Tony Ferguson being "a threat to Khabib" needs to be flushed down the toilet at this point.

Tony was never a threat to Khabib.
Only idiot fans thought so.

In fact, before all this happened, Ali Abdelaziz rightly said, "Tony Ferguson has nothing for Khabib. We think it would be one of Khabib's easiest fights."

Ali was right.

A fighter losing at the end of their career isn't evidence of anything. happens to everyone.

It's very possible Tony would have been destroyed by Khabib. Instead he got to pad his streak with another two wins.

Congrats, you won the dummy of the day award AGAIN! You are on quite the streak!
