Department of Defense Delays Trump’s Military Parade w/o Explanation

Trump wanted to hold a parade— costs estimates ranging from $3-92 million— of the military through Washington. (If not outright terrifying, at least massively cringy... not to mention wasteful.)

Well, according to DoD spokespeople... yeah, that’s not gonna happen. Looking at dates in 2019, maybe. When asked for an explantation about the delay, none was given.

The American Legion suggests delaying any parade until all overseas troops fighting the interminable “War on Terror” are brought home. The group also suggests that the millions of dollars spent on a parade would be better spent caring for veterans.

DNC parades are conducted frequently internal to the military, having a parade for the public wouldnt be that much different.

This is a sound point. A military parade is a showman exercise, but if we're already fighting in wars we are showing the world our might in a much more literal manner as it is.
