Siver has a 70" reach. He's just 1" under Mike Tyson!

Holloway is just 69".

Ortega is just 68".

Jose Aldo has a longer reach than both Ortega and Holloway who made him look like a midget.

Does anyone really believe this?

So, let me explain to you why the UFC's "reach" is bupkes. One, you're measuring from finger tip to finger tip, why should it be a surprise that an extremely broad shouldered Siver may have a longer wingspan than Holloway, who has a clearly narrow torso and small shoulders?

Another thing is, you don't punch with your fingers kids (unless you're Jon Jones), that's why boxing sometimes measures from your armpit to your knuckles, which is a more a accurate measurement of your punching reach. Brock Lesnars reach may measure longer than Struves but it's apparent his arms themselves are not longer. Also, again going back to fingertips, imagine someone with stubby hands but equally as long of arms as a man with long fingers? When you measure the reach, those fingers could add an additional 2-4inches of reach that doesn't really exist when you're striking with a closed fist.

Ortega is also 5'8 while holloway is 5'11... I think all these fighters measurements need to be redone..

Torso width is part of "reach", really armspan, as HuskySamoan explained.

A few inches of height also extends your reach relative to your opponent.

Reach is not 1 dimensional as the naked stats suggest.

But you forgot to tell us Sivirs reach.
