Also says he felt a significant speed advantage at HW, inspite of all the extra fat he was carrying.

“I felt like I was faster,” Cormier said, “because at 205, I think my speed, it doesn’t jump out at you as much because all of these guys that I fight are pretty fast. So I think I felt faster, I think I felt faster at heavyweight, and then just not having to do that weight cut, it makes such a big deal, man. That weight cut can really, really — it can really brutalize you.

I think he underestimate weighing in at 245 pounds and 205 pounds before fight takes place helping him better take shots though.

Rumble couldn't finish Arlovski out of all people at heavyweight. I don't think it's out of realm of possibility that somehow Rumble hits harder than Stipe, but I don't necessarily think it's true.

Many here were saying that prior to the fight as well.

I wasn't 100% sure, Stipe is a huge guy with very nice hands.

But Rumble does seem to have that type of power that knocks guys clear across the cage.

Was amazed at how easily DC walked through Miocics shots, and just ran him over. Dudes chin is granite.

Stipe was/is overrated.

His most notable win was beating a guy who's been training for 4 years and took a 2 week vacation to France at the end of his training camp.

DC was able to KO Stipe but Ngannou wasn't. Jones was able to KO DC but Rumble wasn't.

Clearly PED Jones > Rumble > DC > Ford Escort in terms of striking power

Well, Stipe didn't exactly tee off on him. Just one-two, one-two trying to find some range. You can't really compare a 1-2 to a massive overhand.

But DC only ever felt rumbles punches when he wasn't fueled by Popeyes chicken power, so it's possible stipe hits harder than rumble

He starched Werdum in ONE round after he choked out Valesquez (who beats up DC regularly).

LOL overrated.

I'd love to know how Rumble is wrapping his hands.

Many fighters have used shady wrapping to make their hands casts - then throw in small gloves and BAM. Ungodly power.

Miocic never really landed hard shots on him clean, he looked a little sloppy. Rumble probably does hit harder, usually Stipe times precise shots on guys and puts them out.

And Cormier did look faster than usual.

Stipe will make him eat his words. Good shot by DC but I think Stipe wins the rematch.
