BoxingScene.com has been advised that the recently announced showdown between David Benavidez and Ronald Gavril, who will fight for the vacant WBC super middleweight title, will take place in Las Vegas on September 8th and will headline a PBC on Bounce TV card (recently changed to showtime boxing)

Benavidez (18-0) was originally scheduled to face Callum Smith for the title that was vacated by Badou Jack when Jack decided to move up to the light heavyweight division earlier this year.

Smith dropped out of the fight and joined the World Boxing Super Series super middleweight tournament instead, and faces Erik Skoglund in the first round next month.

Benavidez last fought in May when he stopped Porky Medina in 8 rounds. He will become the youngest super middleweight champion in history at 20 years old if he comes out with the victory. Gavril (18-1) is promoted by Mayweather Promotions and has won 7 fights in a row since suffering his only profesional defeat.

Unbeaten super middleweight prospect Caleb Plant (15-0) advised BoxingScene.com that he will face an opponent to be determined in the co-featured bout.

Still posting others complete work with linking to the original source. When will the mods step in?

How good is this fella then, I've not seen him fight! I've heard some good things though and he must have some talent to get his shot so young. Shame the fight with smith didn't happen as he's the best of the brits at this weight imo

Stfu!! You idiot'
When you highlight the full text it automatically includes a link to where it's from if it's boxing scene so you must be deleting the link.

Don't be consortium.

First of all whenever I think of the channel Bounce, I think of chicks with fat asses in g strings and covered in oil, shaking their buttcheeks right in front of a camera.

Secondly, who the fuck has Bounce on their tv package? And if so have you ever watched it for anything other than boxing..... or hoping to see some ho's sweet cheeks jiggling in your face?

Ronald is such a great guy. I am really pulling for him. Its also Eddie Mustafa Muhammad's chance for redemption in his mind after his split with Badou Jack. It will be a tough fight for Ronald who tends to be up and down, but it seems his personal affairs are finally in order, so hopefully we see his best. On a side note, he might be the worst golfer I have ever seen

Even worse than.....

even worse. a few weeks ago a bunch of us went to top golf. he was horrible. I will have a vvideo up in a week or so

I really want to see that. Please @ me when you post it, if you don't mind. Golf really is a fucking pain in the ass, it's probably the most frustrating, difficult game to get good at, from my experience. That and baseball, but I actually finally got pretty good at baseball. Sounds like Ronald will make me feel real good about my golf game, though, so that makes me happy, lol.

How's Floy doing in camp, btw? Looking sharp and kicking the shit out of his sparring partners as usual, I hope?

WBSS was a much safer choice for Smith than taking on Benavidez. Likely another Benavidez win by stoppage here.

I will. it was Ronald, shawn porter, badou jack, Jessie vargas and a couple other guys. you know its a horrible group when I was the best one there.

I haven't watched Floyd much in this camp compared to others. he is incredible as always, and he works really hard. I have only actually watched him spar once. nice to see the yearly "zab Judah ko's him in sparring" story is making the rounds once again

Who is Floyd sparring with?

Go Romania, go Ronald! The Thrill is simply a nice name. Dirrell ducked Benavidez, who is a beast.

UNDERCARD
In a pair of 10-round bouts between 168-pound rivals, J’Leon Love (23-1, 13 KOs) takes on Abraham Han (26-3, 16 KOs), and Caleb Plant (15-0, 10 KOs) battles Alan Campa (16-3, 11 KOs).

  • LOVE vs HAN
  • PLANT vs CAMPA

I really like this fight, Benavidez is a monster and Ronald has been looking better every time on TMT recent cards

LAS VEGAS, NV - Unbeaten super-middleweight contender (WBA #7 and IBF #11), Caleb "Sweethands" Plant (15-0, 10 KOs), was a big hit at the Sunrise Children's Hospital in Las Vegas yesterday as he visited kids dealing with medical conditions.

The visit was in honor of his daughter Alia, who passed away from an unknown medical condition at 19-months old, back in January of 2015.

Shoe Palace, Ringside, World Boxing Council (WBC), Premier Boxing Champions (PBC), and Showtime all donated gifts that put smiles on all the kids faces.

"It was a great day for me to be visiting these kids in the hospital." said Caleb Plant.

"Seeing all the smiles on their faces made me feel good inside. My daughter Alia and her spirit lives on and I know she's up in heaven smiling down on me. I'm going to be making this an annual event. I want to thank the WBC, Shoe Palace, Ringside, Showtime and PBC for the gifts they donated. I also want to thank the folks at Sunrise Children's Hospital for giving me the opportunity to visit the kids. I'm very thankful to everyone who was involved."

Caleb Plant returns to the ring on Friday, Sept. 8 live on SHOWTIME in a Premier Boxing Champions event from The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas
