Dave Meltzer noted in this week's edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE claimed the report was "completely inaccurate" and that there had been no negotiations with McGregor, and Dana White reiterated that while appearing on Good Day New York this morning.

"It's not true. It's absolutely not true," White said. He revealed that he had just texted with Vince McMahon about the story and that McMahon had said it wasn't accurate. The hosts of the show urged White to let them see the text messages, with White then showing them his phone.

McMahon texted White that he didn't know anything about McGregor being in talks with WWE and that it was news to him, with White replying that he figured that was the case because WWE is always great about communicating with him. McMahon wrote that McGregor appearing in WWE may be a good idea someday but not now.

No shock since the source was a British tabloid

If you see The Sun, The Mirror or the Daily Sport you run for the hills.

Even Conor said that "talks were ongoing" didn't he?

To be fair....the cruiserweight division could benefit from the publicity.

Yeah, the Sun is a horrible source. Very unreliable.

They make up the craziest football rumors during the transfer windows.

Conor would be a good fit in WWE

Didn't they have a little Irish imp at one point?

I assumed it was bullshit when I saw it was the Sun. The only part of this new 'story' that doesn't make sense is McMahon saying now isn't a good time to have Conor on. When would be exactly? Once he loses the title?

At one point Conor said there was an offer from Triple H to appear at the past WM which obviously didn't pan out and McGregor himself said the money wasn't enough... However the rumor from the Sun appeared a couple of days signaling that he was in negotiations with them at the moment which Vince, Dana and co turned down as false.

Guys, Dana White, the sleazy journalist, and the professional wrestling promoter have spoken. So it must be true.

Well it was a single rumour from the S*n

any person with a modicum of intelligence could have worked out it was bollocks

if the scum says its raining, check... its probably not

It was typical:
Conor said that he is open to hearing from WWE (at his interview thing last week), then The Sun reports its an offer with quotes from an "insider"
