Dana is to blame for Ngannou's loss

Pretty sure it was more Stipe actually knowing how to fight that cost him the fight

He is a dangerous striker and he demonstrated that throughout. In 2 years of more legit training, he will be a better fighter.

Ngannou was inexperienced, betting on his punch and it can not be said that he did not have a chance at all, he was dangerous until the last second of the fight. This fight can be useful to him and (I hope so), showed him his weaknesses. If Ngannou changes his training and starts working on improving his stamina and TDD (for example, like Mark Hunt), he will have many chances to win the belt.

Maybe we need to add "2 weeks in Paris" Ngannou to the list of MMA memes/excuses..

I don't know about it being too early. He likely would've met up with a wrestler at some point... & hey... he did better than the vets did.

All that said... I called it ahead of the fight to go down just like it did. I felt like Ngannou had a puncher's chance but that Stipe's experience & ground game would win the night. I see that could certainly be read that Ngannou got thrown to the top too early... but there was also nobody else available.

Look at the division. Stipe has cleared it out. There is literally no one right now who is ready for a shot. Ngannou was the only one who had a worthy record... so despite what you think about Dana's desires... it really made sense for other reasons too.

This thread isn’t very well thought out

Ngannou himself (arrogance) and his yes people around him.
I do believe Ngannou drops some of his mass that he had gained and does learn from this.If he fights Stipe a year from now, the betting line hovers around a pk'em which would speak volumes.

He still went 5 rds the fact u people say he gassed yet he STIlL went 5 rds is impressive.
He didn't really go five rounds though did he? He just didn't collapse and die. Ngannou is a great prospect but that fight was done midway through round 2, someone posted the fight stats yesterday and he didn't throw a single strike in round 4, there's no quit in Francis, but there's no gas either.

Pushed him way too early for a title shot out of his desire to get rid of Stipe.

Should have let Francis develop a better game and a more complete skillset against lesser opponents.

But no, he put all his hopes in a ford escort flash KO.

<Dana05><{nope}>

So Francis is the new Erik Silva?
