Honestly, it was bound to happen. Excuse after excuse. "My poor weight." "It's too difficult."

Real fighters step up to the plate. Anderson fighting at 205 after a single phone call. BJ Penn, moving through WW and LW and being a champion in both divisions.

Anybody still prefer to see GSP vs Andy or has the era of Andy VS Jones begun?

So you're saying GSP is not a real fighter? Awesome.

Honestly, I think GSP knows his limitations.

He doesn't have the "i'm the greatest thing since slice bread" vibe to him.

    What bullshit is this?

He probably is considering it, but then decides it's not what's best for him.

GSP has nothing to prove to anyone... he brings more income than most fighters to the ufc but thats off topic.

If GSP wants to stay at his weight class and continue to dominate with no doubt in anyones mind... who the fuck is anyone to doubt him

Big deal if GSP doesn't want to fight Anderson. Does nothing to lessen his legacy. He's still the greatest WW of all time.

Real fighters step up to the plate? Get out of here with that. I guess you think Jones isn't a real fighter for ducking Chael at UFC 151. If not, you kill your statement. Let Georges lay waste to Hendricks and Silva beat Weidman and we'll see where we stand. GSP has a plan and, like always, he's gonna stick to it.

why does it have to be about proving something? how about just giving the fans (who basically made him who he is) the fight they've been begging for for years?

Funny, he beats other "fighters" handily. I guess I'd rather be an athlete than a fighter, not that there's a difference.

I think the point is he's been "considering" it for years and leading people on when everyone knew he probably never intended to actually take the fight.

No-win situation for GSP, he'll be accused of ducking someone whether he fights Spider or Hendricks. Anyway I'd rather see Silva/Jones too, that's literally the bigger fight.

This is quite the contrast to tomorrow's main-eventer, Chael Sonnen. Chael will fight anybody, any time, on short notice, wherever, just call him. He fought AS, offered to fight Bones on short notice, and because of that received this title shot out of gratitude by UFC brass.

He gave AS all he could handle, and lost. No shame in being the only guy to dominate the GOAT for most of a fight. And he might get dominated by Bones tomorrow night, but there's no shame in that either. Former champs have been dominated by Bones.

Point is, I can respect Sonnen. GSP is just so scared of losing. It comes out in his fighting style and now in his business decisions. I suppose that's his prerogative, and he's a hell of a welterweight athlete in any event, but his aversion to losing is going to come with consequences in the eyes of the public and in the eyes of those who write history.

He'll always be regarded as a fantastic athlete, but he's heading toward (or is already within) "asterisk" territory--a guy who when everyone talks about all of his greatness, someone will always say, "yeah, but..."

LoL @ someone being accused of ducking after signing to fight Anderson Silva. Only Hendrick's fans would get mad and say crap like that.

Well people ask him about it every day.

Going up and fighting Anderson Silva isn't an easy thing to do, especially when you have so much to lose.

Maybe people should just stop asking him about it, it has become obvious he wants to part of it, every single time he says "i'm thinking about it, but you know anderson weighs 230 lbs walking around, i'm 190" or something along those lines.
