Damn fedor he won't give in

do you think its that easy to go back to your "EARLY STYLE"????

its beyond me how people dont understand this basic concept of age.
So you're telling me he can't grapple anymore? Unlearned it? Was he bitten by the same bug that bit Sergei?

Your not the sharpest tool in the shed. He has had a lifetime of judo and sambo training and competition that most likely had an effect on his knees, back , and shoulder. Not to mention the hand breaks and thumb injury he has been confirmed to have from mma. Hand injuries mean he will have a harder time gripping for throws.

I know very well about the impacts of judo in the body as I'm a judoka myself. I also know judokas who are older than Fyodor and far more successful than him in the sport that can still do extremely well. There are also MMA fighters about the same age or older that still have a sharp ground game (Mir) so please spare me the "his body is too old/injured for that". He fell in love with KOing people a long time ago and stopped fighting smart and doesn't take the ground aspect into consideration anymore. Not to mention that he trains BJJ with nobodies in Holland! And if that's really the case than he really shouldn't be competing anymore because he's only getting brain damage.

edit: I just checked his record; I couldn't remember his last submission I thought it was against Choi, I was almost right. It was against Sylvia in 2008 but that started with a storm of punches. Choi, an armbar, happened in 31 December 2007. Almost a decade ago.

I have a feeling that Fedor's going to K.O. Mir in the opening stanza..

Hard watching him fight in prime live.

He still has heart only thing keeping him with a chance. Chin is cracked

Watching fedor live is like doing a line of coke

War fedor hope he shows brilliance
Used to stay up all night to watch prode event that started at 4am . And yes was always amped watching hom foght, never a dull moment. The fujita match is probably ny favorite with bas and rampage commetating.

i remember crying like a baby at his first loss..thought WTF was wrong with me..goosebumps eachtime..

Lmao Brock in his last fight vs fedor in his last fight Brock wins with ease.

Fedor has never updated his training which is why he fell off so quick.

Or fighting in America.

10 years isn't quick.

People try to compare Fedor to the fighters of today but his contemporaries are Nog, Arlovski, Sylvia and Couture, all fighters who have also fallen the fuck off. And he beat three of those guys.

His speed he still has though l
not as fast in prime but he's stI'll a beast

I am probably in the top 3 as a Fedor fan on this site. I don't even think Fedor trains hard for these fights. I believe if he were to train at any of the top 3 fight camps he could easily make 1 last run for a championship. If he trains with the usual crew I'm not even sure he will beat Mir even though I will picking him to win. Such a shame he was the Baddest Man on the Planet for many years and now he's just become a head hunter and not a ground specialist.

He always trained like that though. I think the only time he ever went out of russia for training was when he spent some weeks in holland for working on his striking.

I wish he woulda tried the ufc forever ago. Think he coulda had better results than cc. Oh well. I still root for him but he won't be champ these days.

I like Fedor’s heart and fighting spirit. I just wish he had some skill and technique to go along with it. You would think fighting for so long he would have developed some skill and technique that would still service him today.

No way watch some of the videos of him training when he was in Pride that was the reason why he was easily P4P GOAT at that time. Fedor of Strikeforce on to today was sucking wind in a 5 minute round. Back in Pride he was doing 10 minute first rounds barely breathing heavy. The only other HW that could possibly do that was Cain. You don't get that way from not training you get cardio from pushing yourself to the brink.

LOL how many 40 year old judokas do you see in the top 10 in MMA? How many of them are going through a grueling camp for each fight with intensen sparring, grappling, wrestling and strength and conditioning programs.

The answer is 0.

Don't be silly, Fedor doesn't need to train like a competitive judoka. What point are you trying to make anyway? He can only train one aspect of the sport because he's too old for everything else? He can't be challenged during training because he's too old? He shouldn't train ground game because he's too old? He can't fight patiently, keep his opponent guessing and fearful of going to the ground because he's too old? You're creating fucking excuses for him to be mediocre.

It is a general consensus that Fedor:

1- stopped taking his training seriously years ago
2- trains under the guidance of and with the wrong people
3 - became a headhunter years ago
4 - doesn't fight intelligently anymore

None of those above had anything to do with him being 40!

That being said, I realize age is real issue here and Fedor is physically impossible of training/fighting like he did during his Pride days however it's not impossible of him to train/fight smart as an experienced fighter who has a sambo background instead of a fucking headhunter that trains jj with blue belts in Holland. So yeah, Fedor does need to go back to his early days style of fighting smart and not being a one trick pony.
