I mean, I agree AND disagree. Yes, it's her fault that she's not at 135. However, is it her fault that she's fighting closer to her natural weight but no one else is at that class?

It is not her natural weight. She has put a ton of effort into gaining weight. She gave her weight at 154 during an interview. 160 when she first asked to be released from her original UFC contract and she has since given her weight at 175. And since she has used PED's, there is more than one reason to say it is not her natural weight. And for a women to gain that much lean muscle mass when training with the volume every fighter must undergo, well, yes, that is her fault.

Cyborg is the queen of never taking responsibility for her own actions.

Ya, I don’t buy this “Cyborg fought only cans”narrative. Who are these great 135/145 females she’s avoided? Liz Carmouche? Betch Corea? Sara McMan? Come on, she would have looked just as dominant against them.

I think she will overwhelm Holly as she does to everyone else. But as you say, we will find out soon enough.

I mean, you can't just pick out some of the worst fighters as evidence (although McMann in fairness just got into the sport too late, she could have been excellent). Don't get me wrong, Cyborg most definitely beats a lot of UFC women, they're not all stellar. But Nunes, Shevchenko, Holm, Zingano, Tate- they are all leaps and bounds ahead of basically anyone Cyborg has faced. She may still be too much for them because of her extra size, but if she ever managed to get to 135 and face them I think it would be a very different story indeed.

I was thinking the same thing today actually. Obviously it'll be nothing like the ronda fight, but holly is the better technical striker and i could see her sneaking in a well timed headkick after weathering the storm. Dont get me wrong ive been wanting cyborg to be recognised as the wmma goat for years, but holly has the tools to upset this one.

See here's the problem. I get it if you think Cyborg's going to win. But how can anyone with knowledge of MMA claim to not see how Holly can win? That's ridiculous. She's a phenomenal boxer and kickboxer, has been fighting at a high level for decades, and actually has THE PERFECT style to beat Cyborg. Cyborg is aggressive and powerful, but not too refined- that was clearly evident in the Baars fight. Ok, that was a world champion- but she looked amateurish by comparison. Holm has all the tools to give Cyborg hell.

The one question mark is whether she's strong enough to hold off Cyborg's clinch game- and based on how she dealt with Ronda (a clinch specialist) I think she will do fine. She got taken down by Miesha- but the big difference is, Miesha is a solid wrestler. Unlike Ronda, and Cyborg, she's got a very decent single and double leg, and she doesn't rely on clinching. Holm showed herself agile enough and powerful enough to deny Ronda any success in the clinch, and I think there's every chance she does the same against Cyborg.

But I guess we'll find out soon.

Ronda’s clinch game is far more one dimensional than Cris’. Cris throwing elbows, knees, punches in the clinch. Ronda is just looking to get the throw.

Also the Baars fight is a bad example. Cris was fighting the best out there that no one else wanted to fight. Giving up height and a lot of reach, but she still hung in there. Holm doesn’t fight the way Jorina does, so it’s not really relevant.

Cris does show patience and refinement when she needs/wants to. So I expect her to stalk Holly, close her down and put her away in the 3rd.

It's gonna be ugly folks. Cyborg is on a different level than every woman fighter. It's essentially like watching what would happen between Mighty Mouse and and the women's division.

Fight ends in the first round with Cyborg beating the shit out of a turtled up Holm. Ref saves Holly's life, and mercifully pulls the beastess off of her.

Yes whes on a different level than every female fighter cos she's virtually a man now...

Forget her training videos, her fight with Gina Carano shows she was taken down easily and handled easily, Carano would have won that if she didn't get stupid and stand it back up.

Since then she's won atleast one BJJ, at brown belt level, world championship.
