Myself and my friends which are big fans of Deus Ex and Blade Runner movies finds Cyberpunk 2077 quite...sugary/too joyful like Saints Row.

Personally I would like cyberpunk to be more dark/gloomy like some of those post-nuclear new order movies such as Hardware 1990, the old Blade Runner movie, Escape from LA and so on.

And huge promotion of Synthwave music as well.

This of course only my initial thoughts based on trailer but who knows, maybe the title will actually deliver.

Seems a bit early to draw any conclusions.

Seems like you're just trying to be contrarian, as usual.

They've said there's a full day/night and weather cycles. The place is called NIGHT CITY ffs. It's going to be grim, dark and desolate.

Cyberpunk isn't post nuclear. It's a futuristic setting with day and night. Why would it be dark all the time?

Not dark in a sense of day/night cycle. But the atmosphere. Instead of jumpy hipsters I would rather see an image of people oppressed by the system like in Dues Ex, misery on the streets, homelessness, night clubs filled with differently augmented people, lost hope kind of atmosphere.

The trailer got too much hipsterity to my liking.

Maybe it's just the beginning of the downfall and we will get to see things get worse and worse. I'm sure the cities in Blade runner universe were beautiful before everything started to go to shit.

I dont think so. I can already tell u what this is going to be. Going from one quest hub to another with more and more hipsters, jumping, clapping hands and dancing with some artificial humour included. Is that the game u guys want to play? Or actually something story driven and atmospheric.

I see it being like GTA meets Deus Ex and that is a pleasing thought.

Lost hope in a nightclub? Lol. Sounds unrealistic. What I got from the trailer is the setting is an entire city, not just the seedy underside of one. Looks like a futuristic GTA.

It's probably that expectation, which will lead to disappointment.

    Hype kills.

Have no real expectations. Felt The Witcher 3 told a good story and game you enough options to build your story and relationships, but the combat and core gameplay wasn't anything special. That being said CD Project Red improve with every title. A 3-D Cyberpunk world is also more interesting to me than another medieval styled sword and sorcery world as the latter has been re-treat so often and the former hasn't had a lot of major 3-D entries.

Quirky and somber can fit into the same game. I'm pretty sure that I'm going to enjoy it.

It'll be worth the purchase price, and that's all the really matters, right?
