Coveting the Wood: Stocks and Forends

While doing some roaming online regarding wood stocks and forends for Mossbergs it was apparent that the old cop "corn cob" style forends are considered great finds and usually expensive when you find someone selling them on ebay. Mossberg no longer makes them but if they're a desirable product for those looking for a more "retro" look why aren't they producing like a limited run or some enterprising third party after market dealer creating them?

I can't imaging a wood shop couldn't run out a supply or someone could CNC some out.
