Something to ponder and think about, while Hallman is most famous for wearing blue banana hammocks into the cage, and Dana White making shorts rules in the ufc because of it, he has had a rather strange career.

Most chalk up his winS yes that’s right winS with an S over Matt Hughes just to him having his number and nothing else, with all the loses Hallman has.

What’s not really talked about is what WEIGHT class all these fights are in.

Hallman has fought LW,WW AND MW.

Hallman beat Hughes TWICE at 170, loses NEXT fight after Hughes win to JENS PuLver at 55 for the 55 title.

Would Hellman’s career been much different if he had never accepted fights at 55, which his record is shit compared to his 70 record. And he got kicked out of the ufc for missing weight at 55 Twice in a row.

Could Conor, or even Khabib for that matter be George’s Jens Pulver to his Matt Hughes?

    Something to ponder.

Worth mentioning Hallman has wins over both Karo Parisyan and BennSaunders at 70 also.

    I don't know how.
Maybe to learn GSP how to be consistent in losing fights by KO/TKO .
His last 6 fights were 6 defeats , 5 of them by KO/TKO

GSP is better. Hallman probably only changed his weight. GSP changed his fighting style for the MW fight against Bisping. It wasn't the lay n pray GSP. He went for the finish at the right moment. Also, GSP would have a huge strength advantage over Conor, and stand up and TDD advantage over Khabib.

The way I look at it; if Hallman beat Hughs twice and Hughs beat GSP; then Hallman would beat GSP.
    Hallman is lowkey GOAT...

What if the cut affected gsp the same as Hallman?

Hellman’s a beast at 70 according to his record. And an easy win at 55

Hallman was a tough out. I remember wrestling guys like that. They have another gear. You dont know what's happening to you.

Yeah but apparently he can’t find that gear at 55, that’s the question really isn’t it.

They both have wins x2 over Hughes at 70 and one of them has a loss to Hughes at 70.

Hallman loses a lot at 55, would this happen to George too?
    That’s the question.

I think GSP, at this stage of his career and life, should not have the problems Hallman had.

Hallman was also a little mentally squirrelly. Who knows what else he was dealing with.

Also, Hallman beat a greener version if Hughes, was the more experienced fighter at those times. I dont know that I can reliably compare their experiences with Hughes and come out with a determination.

Hughes was 21-1 going into that fight with his only previous loss to Hallman also.

He was 22-2 after that fight lost his next fight also and went on a 12 fight winning streak until he lost to BJ penn.

    21-1 isn’t exactly noob territory

GSP is too smart to compete at 155 if he doesn't feel 100%. The guy is a master strategist and won't take the fight unless he is convinced he can win.

You're right about that. Maybe it's just Hallman was that much better and made him look green. But when you watch Hughes during his title reign and compare to those Hallman fights, he looks green. Been years since I've watched them though.

I think there is a huge possibility if Hallman never fought 55 his record and legacy would have been totally different.

And if Dana didn’t hate him for the blue banana hammock stunt.

There is a possibility of it was still allowed he would have vs Hughes 1, we would have a different outlook on their careers then.
