Could DC beat ‘Prime Fedor’

He would absolutely batter Fedor.

Being “top level” in those days is a completely different entity to being top level in 2018.

It’s like asking a 60s football team to play a football (or NFL) team now, the level of training, availability of nutrition / conditioning information and the science underlying it all is completely evolved.

The guys now are streets ahead of the guys then.

Lol. Easily proven false by watching any Pride fights.

They have similar body types and the same athletic advantages against heavyweights. Fedor without those advantages struggles and DC grinds his way to a decision.

No you smart ass, but he would KO DC just like Bones did.
it's funny that ko fedor was already out of his prime yet it's prime fedor that ko's everyone in hypothetical land.

Once again, Fedor was a myth made by the Yokuza, hell half of his "wins" are against sub .500 cruiserweights....fedor isn't even in the top 5 HW of all times....the HW GOAT cannot have lost to someone that Jake Shields beat LMAO, come on guys, DC was/is a REAL Olympic caliber athlete, Fedor would be embarrassed just like he was embarrassed by meathead, Werdum, etc. Fedor never fought here because in the USA fights aren't FIXED by organized crime like in Japan

lol at beat fujita with a body kick...wtff??

Watch the fight not wiki, he lands a liver kick that puts Fujita down and follows up with the choke.

Prime Fedor's agility was off the charts.

Punching speed and power were off the charts.

Wrestling would not end well for DC.

Neither would walking forward with his hands up like he does against his opponents.

DC is cool n all but he would lose.

Theres been very little progress in what would constitude technique in a heavy weight fight, wrestling is the same, Fedor was also a master in combat sambo and trained bjj. 90% of progress has been in nutrition, training regimens and things like this. The techniques,as in the individual root techniques are the same, only better incorporated in a mma format. Which is progress in itself but doesnt matter in this case at all cause Fedor was a blackbelt in pretty much everything.

Fedor from the Gary Goodridge/Heath Herring/Nog fight era is a scary proposition for anyone, even today. LMAO at people saying DC's grappling would be too much - do you even SAMBO??? Watch those fights, he was an utter monster, and could beat any of the current heavies on any given day. Just because age and battle-wear have taken a toll gives all the haters an excuse to sh!t on him. As stated before he's already fought and beat a bunch of the current HW division. He has definitely lost some of the lightning reflexes and otherworldly TD defence over the years, but he could still give any current HW a tough fight. Lots of people slag the Mitrione fight as evidence that Fedor should hang 'em up. Watch the fight. The two guys laid each other out simultaneously, and the younger fighter recovered more quickly and won. Meat head has always been dangerous, and he should be top 5 really, so not really a loss that's so bad to call for retirement or write-off the guy's GOAT status. So many haters missing out on such an epic career. I love MMA, love so many of the fighters, but nothing comes close to the excitement of watching prime, PRIDE-era Fedor.

US training techniques have advanced the art of fighting(and getting injuried) without fighting.

Could "Prime Fedor" beat Daniel Cormier.

FTFY

I think it would be a lot better fight than people on here think, you guys act like Fedor is from some dinosaur era. People just discredit anything from Pride because "all they ever fought was little japanese guys". The caliber of competition Pride was better than UFC back in those days , not to mention those guys fought 4-5 times a compared to 2 times a year in the UFC. These "japanese cans" were better than guys like Mike Van Arsdale and Vernon White who were getting Title shots in the UFC at the time.

Based on what? Is this 2018 Hunt some takedown/grappling machine that I don't know about? He's the exact same fighter with better defensive grappling.

Overall better game yeah. Not a machine but I am pretty sure 2018 Hunto could take 2007 Hunto down and pound him out.

No way fedor ko's dc. And no way fedor takes dc down. U do the math

It wouldn't even be fair though. Fedor was from a different era. Most of today's champs would demolish last gen champs. This game has evolved A LOT.

Of course, if Fedor had been in his prime NOW and trained with AKA or something, in terms of physical and mental capabilities, I think he'd have a great run as champ.

Could probably take Fedor down. Wouldn't be able to keep him down / do anything with the takedown. Would ultimately either get subbed or get his face smashed in.
