Could AJ Take out Rico in Kickboxing rules ?

I think he would do the same thing masato did against the boxer he faced and just throw a large volume of weak kicks and move around a lot, with the rare punch mixed in here and there. Masato would have lost that fight if it was a higher caliber more aggressive boxer, and I think the same would happen in this situation
Are you just using Masato as an example because he's a Kickboxer? They fight nothing alike. You're out of your element here and it shows...

If Joshua spent a few years training kickboxing he'd be a monster. Put him in raw with no experience and he'd get his leg chewed up...I don't see how anyone could think otherwise. Boxers have always struggled with this in k1.

BTW, Joshua could easily be a top 10 HW with minimal training. The division is completely dry. Beating Rico is a different story tho. He's so far ahead of everyone else. You could argue Rico has potential to be top 10 HW boxer too tho.

Agree completely about the kickboxing part, but I don't think Rico would be a top 10 heavyweight boxer. Speaking as a former amateur boxer myself, his boxing is good, but still a step below many of the contenders the few elite guys beat up on. Honestly, I can't say that Rico, even with a few years of training, would defeat someone like an Artur Szpilka, who is ranked 30th in the world according to Boxrec.

I don't think you understand how hard it would be for a boxer, who has never conditioned his legs properly for a kickboxing fight, to get in there with Rico. You should watch Shannon Briggs JRE thing. He tells the history about how he was about to give up and fall in his K1 fight against Tom Erikson, the MMA guy and former wrestler, who probably wasn't anywhere near Rico when it comes to power behind his kicks. The difference is.. with Rico ring generalship and control of range, he wouldn't be there for Joshua's counter.

Well Rico matches up well enough against Boxing to be a regular training partner of Tyson Fury. You're talking in generalities it doesn't work that way. Rico is a master at distancing and ring generalship in a Kickboxing setting.

Could he get caught? Sure anything can happen but from a technical standpoint he has a clear obvious advantage. On paper it's an easy win for Rico.
Definitely man, Rico’s boxing fundamentals are actually not that far from being comparable with AJ. If things had been a little different it would not be hard to imagine seeing Rico as a serious heavyweight contender.

Holzken looked good against the best boxer in his division in his 13th fight. Rico could probably do the same if he dedicated himself to it.

Holzken is also a better pure boxer, with much more history and experience in boxing than Rico has. And even then, what is Holzken's world ranking at super middleweight? 27th, or right around where I pegged Rico as being if he were to train seriously for a few years.

While the people thinking Anthony Joshua would have any serious chance against Rico in kickboxing are delusional, going the opposite direction and claiming Rico would be a top 10 heavyweight boxer with "some training" is almost as bad.

Rico has been training pure Boxing for years and has been a part of Tyson Fury's fight camps. It's not the same as AJ dipping his toes into the water, he's already in there.

If he went to boxing full time and was steadily brought up I don't see why he couldn't crack the top 10. He's still young by heavyweight standards and has all the physical attributes, it's not like heavyweight is a particularly deep division. Jarell Miller managed to crack the top 10.

Could Anthony Joshua take out Rico in Glory kickboxing rules ?

Bear in mind a way past his prime Francois Botha didn't do too badly in K1, back in the day

Could AJ, with only a few months specialist training, beat Rico purely with his boxing in kickboxing rules ?

Basically could Rico low kick the crap outta AJ before AJ could KO Rico with his hands ?
Thats the problem with Kickboxing these days is watching fights end in TKO due to low kicks is dam right boring.

No it isn't. It doesn't happen often and when it does its fucking glorious.

Stop being Lowkickphobic.

Haven't seen a low kick KO in kickboxing in years.

If only we could have a free to air hour show on suggests like Boxing, MMA and Kickboxing then I might get to catch up on all the big shows around the world.
I miss Fight club on Eurosports.

Yeah but when your into MMA, Boxing, Kickboxing, Rugby Union, Rugby League, Rugby 7's and now developing a liking to NFL ( Hope I don't get into College Football and CFL) it's still takes up a lot of time.

Thrust me you will never get into the CFL <Lmaoo>

But I'm not going to make broad statements about aspects of Rugby because I've never watched it...
