Fighting has a lot of pride in it. A lot of hard work goes into one fight but there are points where fighters are too tough for their own good. Maybe they're thinking a big comeback could happen? Sometimes the referee just doesn't stop the fight but the corner can save their fighter if need be to fight another day. What are some fights where the corner could have prevented further punishment for their fighter?

One that comes to mind:

Cerrone vs Masvidal

After being dropped near the end of the first round it appeared that the fight was over but the ref did not see it that way. Cowboy looked like he was in outer space while his corner tried to pump him up and said he was not going to lose. He goes out like a zombie into the second and gets finished shortly after.

So what examples do you have?

BJ Penn, when he got attacked off a banner before the fight started.

Sakuraba's corner man should have been shot and pissed on after the Arona fight.

Penn's brother would have got him killed against GSP. Parillo called it off.

Machida should not have returned for the second round against Luke. Thank god Luke choked him out instead of taking him down and splattering his scramble brains.

JDS should have also been saved from all the Cain punishment. It seemed life changing.

Fabio Maldanado should have been rescued from his insane beating from Glover? I think it was Glover, but maybe it was Stipe.

Dana White said he wanted to throw in the towel for Cain-JDS 3

Jake's corner.
For letting him step inside the Octagon together with Superstar Platinum Mike Perry.

Best corner work - Ali's corner after he was decked by Cooper - they screwed with his gloves and got a delay to put them on again. Helped him recover by buying time.

Rampage vs shogun was bad. He was injured and was getting tuned up. He even said he wished that they had pulled him out

Chris Weidman vs Luke Rockhold. Chris really shouldn't have been out there for the 4th round.

Joe Stevenson vs. BJ Penn

How about when Ed Herman partially blew his knee out in the first round vs Aaron simpson? Corner basically told him to fight through the pain and he completely blew his knee out like 15 seconds into the second round, pretty sure he was out for over a year recovering

Does Nate's corner vs Thomson count? Technically, the towel they threw didn't save him, since the ref already stopped it.

The banner should have probably saved BJ, since it was his corner that was doing it to him.

Can you refresh my memory on this please? I'm drawing a blank.
