Copa Combate 2 Was Tonight. What Do You Guys Think About The Format?

You were there? Would you say that, overall, you were satisfied with what you saw? Were people enjoying the format?
Yes I was there!!!! It’s ok....I was with a friend who is the owner of AFL Spain, who is the manager of Daniel regueijo. General admission was only $30. The alternate fights were low level overall and there were 3 debutant fights if I’m not mistaken. The tournament was good thank god there were no injuries because again the alternates were low level guys. They have to be losing money. But they treat fighters well

Hopefully DAZN paid them enough to keep them afloat for a few years. I doubt that they're getting the same deal that Bellator is getting, but I'm sure that they made some money on the deal. That they're not overpaying for any specific fighters at the moment is a plus. I imagine they pay more for their commentary team than the overwhelming majority of the fighters themselves. I can't remember the name of they guy who signed with them over the UFC off the top of my head, I believe he was on the card the other night, but I'd like to know what his pay is, bc I imagine it is more than everybody else.

Anyway, good on you for supporting them. I live in Oklahoma, and there is a big Latino community here. If they ever decide to put on shows here, I would go. I need to get my lazy ass out to some of the Bellator casino shows. I feel like a bad fan for not going, they come here like 4 or 5 times a year lol.

It was in Battlegrounds MMA, back in 2014. Had some guys you had heard of, too. Luigi Floravanti, Brock Larson, Cody McKenzie, Jesse Taylor, Joe Ray, Trey Houston, Roan Carneiro, and Randall Wallace were the field. Carneiro won

Oh yeah I remember that.
It was the Carneiro's ticket fo UFC (return)

Good shit.

Larson was the other guy in the final, his semi went the distance, and the final did too. Carneiro finished his semi fight. Still, a long night for both. Not a bad card for a regional promotion. I'm in Oklahoma, I'd go to these cards, but they're held in Tulsa and I'm in OKC. Kenny Monday is the guy who runs the show, if you're familiar.

What do you mean you were "in"?

Oh I though you competed lol.
Oh lol. No, by the time I thought about it I was still young enough to start training with enough time to become ready and still be somewhat young, but found out that I have heart disease. So any legitimate commission would never let me compete. My cardio is terrible bc of it anyway. I get winded doing normal, everyday shit. So, fighting was a dream I could never fulfill. And that's a shame, bc I'm a scrapper, and I believe I'd have had a high fight IQ. C'est la vie.

I finally caught up with this a few days late and it was really enjoyable once again. Love tournaments and glad they have English commentary again on DAZN.

Ouch sorry to hear.
