I just want you guys to know I knew there was going to be a thread on this.

Let's put this in perspective.

Shit sucks.
Crackers aren't supposed to be cool. How bout the crispiest cracker in the box?

Exactly.

Had this been a Latin or an Asian child it would have been a nonissue. Because frankly, it is a nonissue.

Yes. They should also start throwing bananas at white athletes so when they throw bananas at blacks it will be a nonissue? Makes sense.

After finding out this was in sweden\UK this is pretty much a non-issue now.

Have you not seen the soccer incidents where people through bananas at black players?

References to black people as monkeys is pretty workdwide.

Huh? This thread exists because people do care and they complained about it to the company which responded by removing the item entirely. If we were talking about a comedy sketch that's one thing but this is an ad, its not supposed to get this kind of reaction and that it did shows fault on the part of the marketing team.
Nobody truly cares. Outrage porn moar.

The mother speaks out and says she thinks there is nothing wrong with this picture and in return some of the tolerant leftists calls her a dumb bitch and some other calls her a worthless mother.

I suppose people feel that they have more of a right to be outraged than the mother of the child. Speaks a lot about the mentality of the "outraged".

They don't want anyone to get in the way of their power trip. They don't want anyone to tell them that the kid is no victim, but rather the beneficiary of what I would imagine is a well-paying, low effort modeling job. A job that is going to be made all the more difficult for him to get, because of this bullshit.

It is too bad that the men and women of the weakest character were given a form of collective power through social media. This is what it entails to. They've become intoxicated and addicted to the power that they deem themselves to have through social signaling. Nothing can stand in their way, not even those who should get to decide whether to be offended, or not.

They have stripped others away from that right, and have taken it upon themselves to possess it. Their judgment is what matters, not that of the parties actually involved.

Shouldn't have used a black kid as the model for that jumper. If it was a question of color contrast for the photo, they could've avoided this by using a white kid and painting his face.
