Simon Dobson composed the introduction, and conducted the orchestra.

The best part is that this performance was for charity. All proceeds went to Teenage Cancer Trust. Hopefully that's a good one: honest as a NPO; useful in its aims, unlike perhaps Lance Armstrong's "Cancer Awareness" charity; finally, fiscally efficient in how it operates to achieve its goals.

Cool so a rock with band and orchestra. They should just turn this into full fledged musical

Broadway is definitely running out of ideas and can use a new gimmick. They are turning Ground Hog Day movie into musical now after using Bronx Tale.

Teenage Cancer Trust is a pretty popular one over here for gigs/comedians at the Royal Albert Hall.

The Who have done a fair few concerts since 2000 or so for them aswell as Paul Weller, David Gilmour and New Order.
