I never thought Conor was literally scared but he avoided defending his title because he wasn't willing to take the risk of losing to Khabib or Tony.

He could of defended his title before the Mayweather fight and was in no rush to fight again. It's great that he is finally stepping up but his 2 plus years of ducking contenders is still shameful.

He was the interim FW champ and then knocked out Aldo. That is pretty similar to defending. If he did it in the opposite order it would be defending obviously.

He could have stayed at FW but how many fights were left? Frankie and an undeserved Aldo rematch (13 seconds) and then a Max rematch? But yet when it serves the hater mind they complain about rematches. In one sentence the haters say Conor cut too much weight at FW but criticize him for not defending? Lol

The truth is, Conor was ready and willing to fight quickly after his 13 second starching of Aldo and wanted to follow his own path and make history. If anytthing, blame Dos Anjos for his poor training especially after his fellow Brazilian got hurt in camp. RDA pulling out is what lead to the Diaz fights. If he didn't pull out everything would have been different.

He probably just has ended up in a situation where he HAVE to fight Khabib.
He is also most likely getting the biggest paycheck in MMA history.
And it wouldn’t surprise me if he also has been promised the Diaz fight after the Khabib fight if he would lose. If he would win it’s an instant 170 title shot or a GSP fight.
As per usual a lot to gain and nothing to lose.
