Yet, I believe that beneath all the bravado, McGregor truly has a warrior spirit and it's not just about the money. There's a lot of guys he could be fighting and maybe he'd only make 80% as much money, but he would assume much less risk and possible damage to his future financial status and health.

This should've been put to bed when Conor took on Mendes on short notice after Aldo pulled out. Mendes was also meant to be Conor's kryptonite; best wrestler in the division, good striking, good chin, good cardio. Completely different match up to Aldo. A lot of fighters would not accept that replacement on two weeks notice, especially for a championship match. Conor did.

The haters on Sherdog were SURE that Mendes was going to destroy Conor. Then, when Conor won, Mendes instantly became too small, coming off the couch, his chin was cracked by Aldo etc etc etc
