Then he broke the global PPV record in 2017

Conor McGregor is the first MMA fighter to make $100,000,000M in MMA

Most hardcore MMA fans wants fighters to be paid more

Except when it's the biggest meteoric rise in combat sports history - Conor McGregor

It's bizarre how some SherDorks think the biggest star in the history of MMA isn't entitled to taking a break during contract negotiations. Boxers with fair revenue share would retire their grandchildren from fighting Conor McGregor once.

If Conor was a boxer, he'd likely clear 9 figures in less than half the fights of his current 8 fight UFC contract. Reebok gets away with murder by paying him $40, 000 / fight to sponsor him.

Conor's biggest reported UFC payday is less than $4 million at UFC 205

There's a strong argument that Conor is one of the most underpaid fighters in the UFC

How did figure these numbers about a private company? What’s your source nuthugger?

I believe it. There is nothing inspiring happening at all in MMA now. Conor is the only thing they got.

The UFC has been shifting away from a PPV focus for years now. So what? This was documented in every S&P for the last like 6 years

  • The FOX television deal is expected to yield more favorable economics for the Zuffa, as it replaces it’s previous Spike TV and Versus TV deals, over the term of the agreement as it reduces the risk on the more volatile event based revenue. The belief is also that Zuffa should be able to deliver more content and be able to expand it’s audience due to FOX’s distribution capabilities.

  • The expectation is that over the life of the new FOX TV deal, TV broadcasting may become a larger source of revenue, which is a positive considering the volatility of event based revenue.

Conor is the first person in combat sports history to maintain a cult following while refusing to fight

202 was Nate Diaz's PPV, not Conor's. Nate was the A side.

Eat that, Mcnutgobblers!
How many other PPVs has Nate headlined? Let's not even go into numbers lol.

Conor's the first person in MMA to do a lot of things. And I'd say Mayweather has a much larger following in combar sports.

1 and it did 1.3 million buys

He's never done under 1 million buys, Conor has though

The Conor casuals this is no suprise they watch only his fights

You're right. Nate's 2 PPVs with Conor which each did over 1M buys was all because of Nate and not Conor. If only the UFC would've had Nate headline the other PPVs he's been on they would've crossed 1M buys too. Am I right?

Possible, we'll never know though

I don't really care, I'd rather see the sport progress without him at this stage, was a big fan at one stage but it's embarrassing now. Aside from money and numbers, at this stage he won't leave much of a legacy career wise, he certainly isn't anywhere p4p goat status, he changed the sport for the worst imo it's all about money fights and less about rankings now.

Guys like BJ, Randy, Hendo, Fedor etc will always have more respect from me because they were true prize fighters, they took on anyone and didn't cry about money or size.

Conors milking it as much as possible, as soon as the guy loses 3-4 fights his stock plummets and he knows this, smart move from a business perspective but you're foolish if you think he doesn't know what he's doing.
