BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Baltimore city crews took down confederate monuments across the city overnight.

All four — the Confederate Soldiers and Sailors Monument on Mount Royal Avenue, the Confederate Women’s Monument on West University Parkway, the Roger B. Taney Monument on Mount Vernon Place and the Robert E. Lee and Thomas. J. “Stonewall” Jackson Monument in the Wyman Park Dell — have been removed.

Can't condemn the cities decision, but surely we'll see peace in Baltimore now.

The only "fair" thing to do is remove ALL statues no matter who they represent. We also need to rename ALL street signs named after historical, political, social or military individuals. While we're at it, we need to call for a stop to celebrating ALL historical, social or political persons with a "national" holiday. We also need to do away with ANY federal or state recognized special days dedicated to a race or ethnic group in the interest of cultural fairness.

This is madness. We are giving in to petulant little children who have no understanding of history or what those statues even mean. Should we start knocking over grave stones while we are at it too? The homage is being paid to young men that fought for their families, died for their country, while the world had collectively lost its mind. Ironically, it also serves as a reminder to not let madness take grip of a country again over political differences, to come together as a country and settle your differences civilly. Those hundreds of thousands of brothers, fathers and sons that died were not fighting for or against slavery.

The confederacy just had the misfortune of being on the losing side, and in war, the winner decides the history, not facts. We are living in the Twilight Zone now, folks.

Yes, thankfully all the crime and violence will now stop in Baltmore! Those pieces of metal were tiggering helpless people to commit all sorts of violent acts against people. Finally, Baltimore has been saved!

Good for Baltimore. This is how it should be done as opposed to vandalism. Get rid of all symbols of racism.

The social experiment in China under Chairman Mao’s leadership is one of the most important and successful in human history.

Oh, the irony...

Well they are works of art... at least now they can be preserved in a more appropriate setting instead of destroyed. They don't make those things in 3D printers you know.

Next excuse to protest ... have the statues removed from the museums they were relocated to.

The protestors can squeeze that cry fest in between wake n' bake and afternoon video games.

Those traitors fought and died for their right to keep black people in chains, and that should be respected. People who say otherwise are Nazis tbh.

What next? Removing George Washington from the dollar bill? Destroy Mount Rushmore?

Is George Washington a symbol of racism?? He had slaves.

Let's get him off the money? remove him from Mount Rushmore? Rename Washington DC ... to Antifa city??

Those guys weren't losers, they won. I prefer my statues to be of winners. Why would you celebrate a loser? Losers are sad, very very sad. We don't celebrate losers. They lost.

In other words, you want to get rid of Martin Luther King day and Cinco de Mayo. Why don't you just say it?

Washington has never been a symbol of racism, that is the point.
