Here's the thing. I scored for Condit, but you can't really be mad with that decision in my opinion. The real reason is that you had a third round that was close. Condit was doing great with activity in that round, but Lawler landed the bigger, more damaging shots. So how do you score it? It depends. I would go Condit, but I was thinking as the fight played out that that could definitely be a problematic round as far as decisive scoring went.
In round 5, Condit was looking to make that all moot. He was looking solid. He was winning. Had he won that, there would have been no question of winning the fight. But Lawler is a sick fuck, an absolute warrior who is the antithesis of some guys who when they are losing resign themselves to just surviving and that's it. Lawler doesn't fight like that. So he turned things around and hurt Condit and won the fifth round big.
A swing round plus coming on ultra strong in the final round is a recipe for winning a fight. It won't always do the trick but it definitely makes a solid case. Don't really see the fight as a robbery. Competitive fight.
