People always talk about comparing Bjorn era vs Coker era in Bellator and i've decided to check it out myself.

Im going to do a comparison of the AVERAGE VIEWERS as well as the overall viewers drawn in.

The trick here is bjorn was around a bit longer then coker has been.....so i've decided to do 63 events since thats the amount of events since coker took over.

So we will compare cokers 63 events since taking over to bjorns events from his last event and back.

(Again these are the averages not the peak numbers.Numbers are found at mmapayout.com)

The average doesn't mean much when MTV2 numbers are included.

The average doesn't mean much when MTV2 numbers are included.

Yeah you should do the averages just for the Spike era. Having the MTV ones kinda skews the average towards Coker's tenure.

Ask and you shall recieve....

This is a numbers comparison between Bjorn era Bellator and Cokers current Bellaforce.

This will only include numbers from Bjorns era from when they got onto SPIKE until Bjorn was ousted. That consists of 37 events(i will include ppv prelim#s avg)so Cokers numbers will start from the event he first was in charge of and end in the same # of events as Bjorn was on spike...37.

I went back over my numbers i mixed some shit up on this one anyway....

I posted another thread with accurate numbers .

Bjorn era from first SPIKE show til his ousting, and Coker era from his first show .

Check it out guys thx

So in total numbers Coker came out ahead by 3 million viewers attracted.

In average he also won by 100,000 viewers.

Its proven Coker reigns supreme!!!

Coker sucks.

As much as I hated Bjorn I have to say his Bellator was more interesting.

Tourneys got old.....

No one wanted to go through the whole tourney after a while, plus it keeps champions out too long from defending.

A side from tourneys bjork had nothing.....no production values,no one wanted to sign in Bellator unless it was last option.

Watch PFL fail and you can see how bjorns version woulda panned out.....atleast pfl is paying good tho.

If coker didn't takeover, the perception of Bellator would never have changed and the ability to nab the free agents they have never woulda happened.

Coker has the respect of fighters and managers, they love working with him......same couldn't be said for bjorn.

Bjorn deserves props for building the brand up and doing what he could but his model of nonstop tourneys and season format got stale and undermined itself after a while.

Watch PFL with much more resources fail using the tourney and season model and you can see where bjorn woulda ended up.

Coker is way better bellator was a mess b4 him

I dont know but Bjorn was a revolutionary in MMA and Coker is a brilliant promoter

Yeah but Rebney era Bellator was at least different

I know what Scott is doing trying to build their brand and it could take God knows how many years for it to reach his vision

Bjorn's Bellator had a lot of pluses imo

It was different than the UFC

I got to look forward to MMA every Friday and always had beer, popcorn, or pizza ready and felt like I got to know their homegrown talent real well

I knew people who weren't into MMA like that that became fans because of Bellator on Spike every weekend

I think when Bjorn left, Coker should've changed the name. Bellator was Bjorn's baby imo

Bellator is now like a refuge for disgruntled UFC fighters to come to. I have no problem with that, just wish it was called something different

But the one guy I cannot stand from the old days is still Michael C. Williams announcing.. He's too over the top, he reminds me of Jefferson from Married With Children and is annoying af I think

That's the only gripe I have really lol

Maybe my math is off but I did it twice and the BJorn numbers I got were

26,153,000 for an average of 706k

Doesn't really seem like much of a difference considering they've also spent a significant amount of money to get UFC names, Kimbo, etc compared to Bjorn's building it from the ground up. Less promotion and advertising during Bjorn era. Heck I bet the cost of the MSG show alone equals like half of the first tourney season when Bjorn started the company.

Important to keep in mind that the landscape was different a couple of years ago as well.

I don’t expect cokers cable ratings to hold up. Cable is dwindling. Compre Coker’s spike in 82m homes to rebneys spike in 98m homes

I fully expect Coker’s tv ratings to continue to dwindle.

Does anybody know of anyone who does any reporting on streams? Anything at all?
