CNN - What's the "Alt Left"? Experts say it's 'made-up term'

It frankly doesn't matter who did or did not coin the term. The only thing that matters if people use the term and it gets popularized.

If people define the alt-right as a white supremacist and nationalist movement, then I would think that by default, the alt-left would be defined by the opposite... A non-white supremacist/anti-nationalist movement.

In other words, a movement that advocates that minorities be provided with privileges and increased positions of power for reasons other than merit. While the majority should be placed with disadvantages and removed/limited from positions of power. Along with advocating for policies that lead to a reduced sense of nationalism and the majority becoming the minority (ie. uninhibited mass immigration).

I'm sorry but by this definition, an alt-left certainly exists and it describes BLM, Antifa and most SJWs down to a T. But of course it's no surprise that liberals would like to deny that such a thing exists.

For a group of people who think CNN is fake news, you guys sure do follow and quote it frequently.

Anywho, the violence from the alt right far outweighs anything the lefties have fone, and that's fact.

Dallas police families disagree

I think Antifa is really more anarchists than marxist or socialists, though there are definitely some Marxist groups organizing lately too.

So by being anarchists Antifa are in reality far right group?

We came full circle

White supremacists = antifa

Excellent point

Even if those on the left (or whatever is associated with the left at this moment) pretend to have moral high ground, the tactics they use are far from being righteous.

It's a concerted effort by the right wing nationalists and supremacists to create a false equivalency.

I mean you don't have to dig very far in their forums to see their tactics and strategy.
The alt left killed 5 cops in Dallas.

No, he was too extreme to be "alt-left" therefore he was not. Doesn't that mean the Charlottville killer was too extreme therefore not "alt-right". No, it doesn't work like that. Also, the Scalise shooter was not "alt-left". He was a (psycho) whack job. That disqualifies him from the "alt-left".

anarchism isn't right or left.

Depends how you look at it

If left means full government control (totalitarianism) like Soviet Union n nazi germany n right means less government control like libertarianism, then anarchism Advocating even less government control means they're even further to the right

Anarchism is no government at all.

Far Right is totalitarianism/fascism. Far Left is communism.

Equality vs Supremacy.

N this pretty much shows how dangerous the mindset of those on the left truly is.

In the name of "equality" they give themselves the right to break the law n terrorize all those they consider "enemies"

Trump did a good job of calling them out n it should be done more n more

fine upstanding BLM members rioting in Charlottesville.
Most leftists support them . They are part of the alt-left .

The alt right is a thing coined by members of said thing. The alt left is just another "I know you are but what am I" bs from
Trumpers. Just like fake news. Now Antifa, that is a thing so if you want to talk about them refer to them by that label.

False equivalency? Are you fucking stupid? Antifa has been attacking people with bats, chains, locks, mace, etc.. for a fucking year now. The violence ratio is 10 to 1.

no is as stupid as you honestly.

I think all rational people can agree the "Alt-Left" and "Alt-Right" suck ass.

You're painting an entire movement on the actions of on guy who wasn't even part of it.
He just happened to be at their event. I'm sure you know his motivations, but I don't. The alt left murdered 5 cops. There really is no "rational" argument.

So Antifa and BLM represent mainstream leftists? That's encouraging

I see no difference. It's what their beliefs lead to.

I'm wondering who hates the west more. Isis or the alt left?
