Is anyone else impress with his resume?

Fought the best in the world for years, with wins over.

Nate Diaz
Anthony Pettis
Rafael Dos Anjos
Takanori Gomi
Tatsuya Kawajiri
Hatsu Hioki
Josh Thomson

Also fought Benson Henderson, Diego Sanchez, Brian Ortega, Gilbert Melendez, Chad Mendes, Dennis Bermudez. If though he lost, that's pretty impressive.

Who would you like to see him fight next? Jeremy Stephens since he called him out? Maybe winner of Yair vs BJ? Or Oliveira?

I'm mostly impressed by his caveman look.

his biggest wins weren't big wins at the time they happened.

guida was clearly good, but fought guys too early or too late.

best win is probably pettis since he was pretty much in his prime by then(got a bit better after), which he did so in a super unimpressive fashion.

Always liked Guida , not a very good athlete but a hard worker and a nice guy

That resume sucks!

-No cover letter
-No community involvement
-Education?

What position is he applying for? Chances are I wouldn't even grant him an interview.

The butthurt he caused by holding down Pettis for three rounds was pretty funny...

A thread about Clay Guida

Haven't seen one in years

You gotta love any fighter that travels fight-to-fight and basically lives his life out of an RV.

Petis was already in is prime. Showtime kicked Benson Henderson before the Guida fight

He definitely lost that Hioki fight, but yeah he has a good resume.

Also, people shit on him way too much for being boring. Yeah, he's been in some stinkers, but he's also been in some of the most exciting fights ever against Diego, Huerta, and Griffin.

Agree with everything you said. His timing of fights was what made him go a bit more unnoticed than most.

I feel like the most exciting fights he's been a part of had more to do with the opposition than with Guida. This was especially the case in the Sanchez fight, he was being swarmed upon and had to dig deep to survive. He's the kind of fighter that's fun to watch in defeat, but not so much in victory. His most recent fight would have been completely forgettable had it not been for the Hail Mary from Ortega.

A lot of his wins weren't that impressive, he stalled against Nate and Pettis.

Guida is only exciting when he's getting his ass kicked.
