You don't see too many kneebars or really leg lock subs of any kind in the UFC. I definitely think it's an area which is evolving in the MMA context.

Gabriel Arges shows this kneebar on his recent instructional-- you're basically interpolating the half guard into the classic turtle kneebar by throwing your knee shield leg all the way over. Kneebars may well be underutilized in MMA because they flow well from common MMA ground positions like half guard and postured closed guard. The major downside, however, is that a failed kneebar is often going to put you in a bottom turtle position without much of a base.
