I hate cigars.

I rolled a J that was as big as a cigar one time

AJ New World has become my alltime fav.


But still love Oliva Connecticuts for my anytime smoke.

on my ass was an understatement

haha yeah...i tend to like pretty stout cigars...the liga t52 i love, but most my smoking buddies can only smoke about half of it...I've also discovered the longer I smoke, the more i seem to like my cigars like little blonde porn stars like their weiners...the thicker, longer, and darker the better lol I smoke almost no Connecticuts anymore with a few exceptions.

If you guys haven't tried the CAO Brazilia, I highly recommend you do. Great flavor profile and not too expensive. I prefer the Lambada vitola.

I smoke very infrequently, and I seem to have a low tolerence for nicotine, so I've had to turn down two Opus X I've been offered.

One day.

yeah the Brazilia is the one decent cigar the local shop here carries all the time and has since they opened...so I've smoked a TON of em, they're GREAT with an irish coffee.

So, I was debating starting a new thread or just bumping this and I decided to basically necro-bump this.

But, I have a couple cigars on the "lighter" spectrum so to speak and would like to try some of the darker ones just to, well, diversify but I always struggle with the darker ones tasting like I'm smoking charcoal almost.

I'm PRETTY sure I'm lighting the things properly but am wondering if people have darker cigars they like that are good for more beginner type people like me?

Any suggestion on a good starter humidor? When I Google humidor my eyes start to cross and my brain begins to turn to mush and run out my ears on all the choices and such.

Like this is one I am looking at but am not sure if I should be concerned or not given Amazon carries it as I don't want to fuck up the cigars I have with some POS storage system.

I wouldnt recommend a glass top. the look nice but harder to maintain humidity. Also built gauges look cool but get a digital one to keep inside, 100% better IMO than analogs. And think about what to you are gonna use for humuidty control, Beads are the best.

I don't need a massive one as I will probably only keep about 10-20 cigars at any one time cause of how infrequently I smoke... I know I saw one built by Pelican but it's all hard plastic like their gun cases are (and expensive as fuck).

Perusing one of the online cigar shops probably a good place to start?

amazon is just as good as any place to look. Just remember to prep your box once you get it before you put any sticks in it. a few days to a week before filling it up.

Distilled water and let the actual humidifier portion soak up the distilled water for about 45 minutes depending on brand then let it sit in the humidor until it stabilizes around 65-70% is what I've read/seen people say.

Thanks for the help for a new guys. I sadly don't think I have a dedicated smoke shop around here that would carry humidors in store. There's a store that has cigars here but you can tell most of these places in my town are head/glass shops that stock cigars in order to pay the bills.

I'm finally in a spot financially I could afford to do more than just barebones cigars like the Maker Mark BS ones and such but want to store these things properly.

Looks nice! As Cheese said, make sure you replace the analog hygrometer with a digital one as soon as possible. You can't trust the analog, as I have seen it be off by 10+ percent.
