Chuck Norris's Judo useless grappling with the Gracies

Um, because if there is a moment where nothing looks like it's happening, the ref will stand them up.

Will await your reply, once you are familiar with judo.

Did you see how fast he submitted Hayward Nishioka at will? He will get a dominant position quickly

I didn't know we were talking prime. But yeah, I still don't think that prime Rickson would school today's average black belt. Beat? sure. School? ehh. Times have changed.

i agree with this ricksons legend is crazy hed not be able to pass guys guards of today hed have to really change things he does i judge him based off mma fights he had vs japanese guys who wernt even good

it took him forever to sub certain guys and maia was subbing top class mma fighters within seconds of getting to the ground

same with royce watch ufc 3 where kimo does a basic upa roll escape and royce goes flying off him a black belt today would not get upa rolled off a guy who only had a few months of grappling training

Yes because his shoulder injury never healed:rolleyes:. All those training sessions with Gene Lebell are lies. Too bad they didn't do shit for him. I am not surprised though.

Gene LeBell comes across as phoney to me.

"It's like I never had a lesson in my life"

Chuck Norris mentor and instructor was none other than Gene Lebell.

Judo players out there, does this sting? :)

It can’t sting too bad. Judokas can’t even beat up Brazilian waiters. Never mind BJJ legends.

Gene LeBell comes across as phoney to me.

He does have a MMA win on film...and if he wasn't the tough SOB everyone says he is wouldn't we have heard that rumor debunked by now.

Not saying Gene is a Judo badass, but more of a badass that does Judo.

Oh and if you say "Judo Gene" in a mirror 3x at midnight, Steven Segals disappear in a shower of feces

Lol, you are that TKD guy who assured real BJJ black belts that they could not get out of the side control of bigger low belts in that whining thread about getting crushed in side control, no?

You just started with BJJ or something?

Lurk the striking forum and you'll get a better idea of what you're dealing with in regards to @spacetime. In small doses he's mildly amusing in a what crap will come up next sort of way.

Unfortunately he(she?) appears to be branching out and this is unexceptable here in my lurking safe zone. Space time can you please go back to the striking forum as this grappling one is sacred.... Thank you.

I've never understood this argument.

Is the average NBA, NFL, MLB, etc better today than 20 years ago? Of course. No one would argue otherwise.

Is the average MMA competitior better than 20 years ago? Of course.

Training methods, access to knowledge, etc- all improve over time. Why wouldn't bjj be any different?

The average competition black belt today is light years better than the average competition blackbelt from 20 years ago. Yes, perhaps the best from then would wreck the 45 year old hobbyists today, but that is not an apples to apples comparison as there wasn't that type of blackbelt 20 years ago (in america at least).

Thats if yesterdays hero stops progressing, if we look at Royce honestly he looks like any blue belt but I doubt he looks like that level now.

What they lose in strength, reflexes etc might be offset by cunning, guile and skill.

Blue belts must be very impressive.

Blue belts must be very impressive.

The 4 minute mile was once considered physically impossible. All sports progress and a teachers job is to ensure the student excells their own skill level and be the best they can be.

No disrespect meant to Royce at all but time marches forward and has no friends. Rewatch the early ufcs and then go to a bjj comp and compare..... Royce did nothing that you will not see there.
I cant remember Matt Hughes bjj belt level but if you werent a specialist back than is was usually low.

Of course but blue belt seems like a stretch.

It's not the Royce or ______ from the past are "blue belt level" or anything like that, it's simply a matter of new generations standing on the shoulders of the previous generations' heros and improving on all their (at the time) revolutionary tactics and skills). This is true in all sports, and other performing art forms like electric guitar.

If Brazilian jiu-jitsu is so goddamn dominant then why didn't Matt Hughes Molly wop Royce Gracie that's all false f****** propaganda saying that that s***'s better than any other Judo because Matthews damn sure wouldn't know Jujitsu expert or a judo expert and still kicked his ass so what does that tell you now and Matt Hughes was no great aficionado of the martial arts either

You son of a b**** is act like that Brazilian jiu-jitsu is the end all who in the f*** did Gracie beat I've never heard of the dumbshit's that Royce Gracie fought in those early UFC's all it showed me was the Judo was good you damn sure didn't tell me that Gracie Jiu-Jitsu was what you had to have he didn't fight no goddamn Judo black belt or any great judokan in those early fights f****** people are morons

And one more thing if Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is so much more Superior can Japanese jujitsu or Judo then why isn't the Olympics filled with Gracie Jiu-Jitsu in the Judo competition has any of the Gracie's ever won a medal in the Olympics

Why would you bump this shitty thread.
