Going back to the spinning backfist in the Anderson Silva rematch. That's 1.

2. Dropping for a guillotine against Shogun. This was his one success. If he hadn't gotten that though...

3. Giving up top position to go for a guillotine against Tito. Fail.

4. Against Fedor he twice was reckless in trying to advance to positions that are easier to reverse than guard and he ended up on his back.

Seems like he should stay in guard and try to land some punches. He absolutely sucks off his back.

Eh the dude has a long history of getting subbed when he sits in guard. Fedor would have taken an arm.

Perhaps. But he's way better at ground n pound than submissions off his back. Not sure why Chael thought it was worth it to take the risk.

Yeah, that was weird. Back when he was in his MW prime (think Bisping, Anderson first fight, Okami, etc.) he did a good job of sticking to his strengths and game plan. Not sure why he's taking crazy chances like a young Sakuraba when he's in his 40s against a dangerous and bigger opponent.

4 for 4 chael is the biggest dive artist in the game, highest paid for a reason

He's not Sapp level, but definitely lacks the ability to come back from adversity. I don't think we've ever seen him unconscious or even close to unconscious. He just covers up after taking punishment.

chael is his own worst enemy he tries to be flashy at times thinking being "creative" will help him but it doesnt.. u fight how your built and your own natural style chael just started doing bjj last 4 years really trying to become a bjj guy u cant take a guy whos wrassled his own life and done gnp from half guard and make him a smooth passing slick sub guy thats what hurt him in this fight

same way chris weidman was having issues he tried to b a bjj guy sow as askren early n his career they both realized there folk style game is bets for holding guys down and beating them and not taking big risk chael needs to do what hes best at double legging guys inside trips and body locks thats his game and stay heavy on top and throw shots

if he does this he wins and does fine chael always loses by doing stupid things idk why his coaches dont stay on his ass tleling him to go out and use your fundamentals
