Manufacturing jobs are steadily being sent overseas. The job market has changed. It's the responsibility of the worker to recycle himself into something the market wants. Take evening classes, take an apprenticeship into a job that has a future, build new skill-sets. I really don't feel sorry for people sitting around idling waiting for the chopping block.

Nah, its more like you telling someone "Maybe its not a good idea to spend your life savings in a pyramid scheme" then when the inevitable happens and you point it out someone responds "Why are you celebrating someone losing their life savings".
Also spare me the copy-paste, because for years, republicans railed against the US Bureau of Labor unemployment statistics as fake and doctored, even though its methodology had not changed in decades. But now that Trump is in, they are suddenly real and trustworthy.
What people pointed out is that it took corporate welfare to "save" those jobs, and these jobs were lost anyway.
Kinda of how the whole tax holiday called American Job Creation Act of 2004, was supposed to create jobs, yet the companies that benefited from it proceeded to lay off a massive amount of people.
