I was just thinking about checking out some currently active guys with different styles.

This place has alot of serious fans of MT so I was hoping to get a bit of help.

Was curious about guys who are great at one of each of the 8 weapons; i.e. Some good knee fighters(long range Knee fighter) good kickers, good elbow fighters and some good punchers.

I not only want to watch but study these particular fighters technique.

You guys probably find threads like this annoying, not trying to be a pest, just hoping to learn a bit more about the sport.

Sangmanee is my favourite fighter he's at his best when moves and uses his skill, evasion and timing. The complete opposite to the idea that all Thai's just stand and bang. Still only 20.

Muangthai is the King of the Elbow. Everyone knows its coming but it still gets there. However, he's a bit of a one trick pony. Still only 22.

Yodwhicha is the King of the Clinch. Rapes top fighters with ease. Still only 21.

Satanmuanglek is a great fighter who attacks with elbows and knees.

Hong Thanonchai is Sangmanee's nemesis. He's a great fighter who always moves forward. Still only 24.

All the fighters from the Sitmanchai gym are very aggressive with lots of punches and low kicks.

So many fighters, so many styles.

Firstly, thanks for a great post!

Wasn't expecting such a detailed response as most threads like mine on this sub forum are usually just ignored or trolled by the more experienced, die hard fans.(Gives this place a bad reputation)

I like watching Sangmanee alot as well, I asked for a recommendation for someone who has a similar style too Yodsanklai(body kicker/1-2 puncher) and Sangmanee was the one who someone told me about. He's been one of my favorites since.

I'm not a huge fan of Yodwicha, but I'll check out Satarnmuanglek and Thanonchai.

Thanks again!

I understand what you're saying about Yodwhicha I was the same. But the more I get into MT the more I began to like him.

Heres Satanmuanglek

Also Superbon is a great fighter under KB rules at 70kg, well worth checking out.

And Panpayak is another fighter worth checking out. He's got a great kick and knee style.

At 2:20 it's a clip of Rungnarai knocking out Satharnmuanglek. Good highlights though but for the music.

I agree that Muangthai is a very specific fighter. Never punches, but instead trap arms and elbows.

My personal preference when it comes to fighting style is the sweeping/throwing specialist ; I think that Superbank is my favourite fighter when it comes to that. Check out Sangmanee vs Superbank.

You won't regret it, especially since many are mentioning Sanmanee ITT.

Kicks: Singdam, Kongsak

Aggressive/Brawler: Saeksan, Pornsaneh

Knees/clinch: yodwicha, petchboonchu, manasak

Punches: Yodlekpet

Technician: Sangmanee, Panpayak, Sam-A, Nong-O

your original question was kind of imposible to answer. what exists is the four classic styles the knee/clinch specialist, the walk forward pressure fighter, the brawler who relies on punch-kick combinations and the well rounded, back pedalling technical fighter.

Damn! This guy is great!

Thats one hell of a highlight reel. Seems like he can throw everything.

One to watch for sure.

I agree Superbank is great to watch. Fantastic timing to pull off his sweeps, looks almost poetic especially when he counters the long knee.

For some reason Superbank isn't very popular here it seems, while a fighter like Saeksan always gets praised.

I definitely appreciate the ferocity of a fighter like Seksan but I personally like to watch Superbank much more.

Rungnarai calmly put Satanmualek to sleep. I like Rungnarai's style the most, calm and fucking deadly.
