Callouts that backfired

Nate Diaz calling out Diego Sanchez

Frank Trigg semi-calling out GSP (Trigg said GSP was a b-level fighter, while he and Matt Hughes are the only a-level fighters in the WW division)

Tim Sylvia calling out Fedor

Sonnen calling out Anderson Silva

Nick Diaz fought Diego

Swick is easily one of my most missed retired fighters. Dude always came to bang
<{JustBleed}>

He was always entertaining and always brought it.

Wholly unrelated to the thread, but Saunders is another guy that entertains.

Till calling out perry kinda backfired since perry lost.

Man Swick had a fun style. That would never work in modern MMA, but around the UFC boom back in '05ish his bezerk, running forward flurries were putting everyone away.

Texeira vs Glover is the first that comes to mind.
Others include Conor calling out Floyd and Chael calling out Anderson Silva.
Glover calling out texeira. Sweet white belt statement

I don't get why people are bringing up guys who called out the champ and lost title fights. Obviously that's very different to calling out random fighter X who has no belt.

If you make it to title contention, you've literally made it one step off from the top. No backfiring there.
