Weight on the bar is half your body weight and you keep going until you've done, however long it takes.

1 mile run
50 push up
50 burpees
50 box jumps
50 power cleans
50 deadlifts
50 clean & press
50 thrusters
1 mile run

Did this today with a friend who's a pro boxer and in top shape. We are both 185lbs and it took him 35 minutes and me just over 40, so not too far behind him. But whilst I'm not in as good shape as him I would still be considered to be in very good shape compared to most people. Apparently most the regular gym goers cannot complete this within an hour.

It was extremely brutal so give it a go and see what your time is.

the deadlifts, cleans and presses one right after other especially after an endurance exercise that's meant to be done as fast as you can, worry me about injury. Trying to sustain such technical form while being heavily fatigued is just asking for it.

Agreed. I can DL in the mid 400s and when I really fucked my back up it was because I got lazy on a warm up set of 225.

Hard to tell if the workout is going to be difficult for me.

How your shoulders feeling? That's a lot of reps overhead.

Was just about to say that looks like a Crossfit workout. No thanks.
It's what's known as a "chipper," because you're supposed to feel like you went through a wood chipper after doing it.

One of the things about Crossfit that REALLY grinds my gears is all the made up words and phrases they use.

WOD, SALLY, CHIPPER, HERO WORKOUT, METCON, BOX, REGIONALS (glee anyone?), THE GAMES (Olympic games ripoff) and whatever else they use. Just call it whatever it's called already instead of trying to reinvent the wheel with fancy gimmicky and fad names. The cult like hive mentality combined with extreme commercialism annoys the hell out of me. "Fittest man on earth" give me a fucking break. And don't get me started on the lack of methodology and proper programming.

"Let's just do as many deadlifts, snatches and ring dips as we can for time!!! CAN YOU FEEL IT" Great fucking idea...

I enjoyed Crossfit when it was unpopular and they didn't give certs away like Halloween candy

Never been a fan, which is strange because I really like the idea of combining different training modalities and being an "all around" athlete. It's good that it's getting people moving though, and I can understand the appeal somewhat. It's fun, it's social, it's competitive, you're a part of a group, so forth.

I turned away from it once soccer moms started using it to prove their toughness

A clean is an explosive movement. The whole point is maximum bar acceleration. You are performing 50 reps in one set.

Why? Then you do 50 half body weight deadlifts and then 50 more cleans but with a press at the top? Talk about redundancy.

So is this a named program or something, that people do for time, or just some random exercises that you and your friend came up with? Sure looks like the latter.

It's not the latter, it's from crossfit. And is for time, like everything in crossfit.
