As reported by the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf:

Big gangster from Schiedam caught in Dubai

AMSTERDAM / DUBAI - One of the most comprehensive crime investigations in Australia ever, gets more and more a Dutch touch. After the arrest of suppliers from Utrecht and Huizen of a thousand kilograms xtc to a gang in 'Down Under', a crime boss from our country has been arrested in Dubai.

According to the Australian federal police, which leads the so called Veyda investigation to the infamous family Ibrahim from Sydney, the recently arrested Nejmi S., 41, is the leader of one of the largest European drug syndicates.

    S. has a Turkish background and originally comes from Schiedam. He is the brother of the world-famous kickboker Gökhan 'De Rebel', who is currently preparing for his next fight in September, also in Dubai.

    Weapons
Operation Veyda is a investigation of a criminal organization by John, Michael, and Fadi Ibrahim from Sydney. Nearly five hundred police officers raided the properties of the brothers and other gang members on August 8. Nearly five million euros of cash, luxury goods and weapons were found in the raids.

In Dubai, Michael and John were arrested. They were on a boat with a rent of 40,000 dollars a day. It is not clear whether Nejmi S. was on the pleasure ship. Two men from Utrecht and Huizen were arrested here at the request of the Australian police.

The suspicion? Delivering one thousand kilos of mdma, the main ingredient of xtc, and 116 kilos of cocaine. The drugs have a value in Australia of about six million euros. The men would also have delivered 15 kilos of crystal meth.

Australian media pays close attention to the operation. The brothers John, Michael and Fadi Ibrahim are seen as the biggest gangsters of the country and are involved with extortion and drug trafficking. John Ibrahim, with the nicknames 'King of the Cross' and 'Teflon John', controls seventeen nightclubs in Kings Cross, Sydney.

    Extradition
It's a thorn in the side of the Dutch Public Prosecutor's Office that Dutch gangsters are operating from Dubai. Big gangsters, including the 'Mocromaffia', can easily enjoy their crime money, because of the strict supervision of weapons, which protects them from hits of competitors. Dubai is barely involved in the extradition of criminals and investigations.

Veyda's case shows that Dutch top criminals do business with the world's largest criminal organizations. Dubai is a kind of 'vip box' for gangsters from Italy, Morocco, Spain and Great Britain.

Dubai isn't Saudi Arabia. It does have insane drug laws - your prescription pills could get you 4 years in prison at the airport.

Also you're probably thinking of Thailand or Singapore - not China.

    Damn my bad.

But I'm pretty sure, China has been killing off people who got caught with selling or having drugs.
